Re: Why Wait Till November?

WTRV's new logo is virtually identical to the one another "River" (WRVF Toledo) used in the late '90s/early '00s, for what that's worth.

Re: 92.1 WIDL flips to Classic Rock as I-92

I think they were known as I-92 in the 90s before flipping to Adult Top 40 as "The Coyote". I heard it a few times and wasn't impressed. I even heard that when he was a jock there, Tom Devitt constantly trolled this board and harassed people. He's at WKLT in TC now, sadly. Summer of 1999 according ...

Re: Entercom/CBS Radio Merger

No problem with Entercom in the Detroit DMA?- so WWJ, 97.1 and WXYT will all be 'Entercom' stations? They were CBS since the beginning of time, weren't they? WWJ (and by extension 97.1 which used to be WWJ-FM) was an NBC affiliate once upon a time and AM 1270 (then WXYZ and by extension 101.1 which...

Re: 103.3 FM Toledo

Not Youngstown to Toledo, but the other way around. W277BI has a construction permit under AM Revitalization to move to Youngstown on 97.7, where it will relay WYCL "La Nueva Mia 1540" Niles OH which does indeed carry a Tropical format.

Re: Fun Radio 97.7

Are you thinking of WBNS-FM in Columbus (at 97.1)? They were oldies for most of the '90s. Or perhaps WFUN 970 AM in Ashtabula (though that's not in central Ohio) which I seem to recall was also oldies for a long time.

Glad to see real oldies back on the terrestrial dial.

Re: Interference to WQUS in Oakland County

It's probably even worse in northwestern Macomb County. WQUS used to be a very usable signal from Washington northward. This is likely no longer the case. WQUS' protected 60 dbu contour comes to about a third of the way between Almont and Romeo and includes small slivers of northwestern Macomb and n...

Re: Why is RDS so inconsistent?

Yeah, I've noticed that as well - when I visit family in the Lansing area, WFBE's RDS will often show up even though the station itself can hardly be heard in the slop from WMMQ.

Re: Why is RDS so inconsistent?

The strangest RDS in my neck of the woods is that of WFBE (Nash FM) in Flint. My old 2008 Dodge Nitro would not decode that station's RDS even in Flint itself - not even the PTY (and despite the fact that my Eton Traveler decoded it just fine). Now I have a 2016 Nissan Rogue that decodes the station...

Also, a bad report for the Radio One stations, and it appears Bell Media no longer subscribes.

Re: Bounce deflated

Are they starting to add more rhythmic pop throwbacks now? The other day I heard "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars on 105.1.

Re: WOMC Christmas Music

WNIC and 101.5 in Toledo are playing the same songs at basically the same time. So it must be a multi-station package or something like that.. iHeart's Premium Choice playlist. Tune to Star 105.7 in Grand Rapids or Majic 105.7 in Cleveland and you'll hear the same songs there as well, with maybe sl...

Re: To Be Announced

I was having this issue on Charter in Whitmore Lake. In addition to all the "To Be Announced" listings some channels (like World Channel WTVS 56.2) weren't coming in at all. We called Charter, got them to reset our box and all was fine afterward.

Okay… now that my head is thoroughly spinning trying to keep up with all the programming/frequency changes, is this more or less accurate at the moment? 1450 WKLA/92.7 W224CA: Still airing talk format on a temporary basis while WLDN is silent 96.3 WKLA-FM: WW1 Hot AC format as Hits 96 97.7 WMLQ: Sim...

Re: Star is the first to flip to Xmas

Meanwhile 100.5 is promising no Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. It'll be interesting to see if they get any Star listeners to come over. Didn't Star actually trend downward with Christmas music last year?

Re: Magic 94.1 moves to 104.9 MHz on October 24

Was in G.R. for a wedding over the weekend and noticed 104.9 with a nice solid signal as far south as the Gun Lake casino - in fact, in the park-and-ride lot just off 131, 104.9 was stopping the Scan/Seek while WBLU, WFGR and WTRV weren't. For what it's worth, I also noticed 810 WMJH was off the air...
