Didn't Marathon own Speedway?
Yes - was a subsidiary until earlier this year then was spun off to became a wholly owned subsidiary. According to the articles I read, 7-Eleven was going to buy it in March but COVID-19 hit, They paid a Billion less in August for it.

Seems like Speedway had the lowest snack prices, but they were always the first to increase gas prices in an area with their 20-35 cent price jumps. I have mixed feelings on this.
That’s because Marathon / Speedway is always the first to Jack up prices

Re: Speedway gas stations going bye bye

I did see that somewhere a few months back, but I had forgotten about it. In Florida, we had the Hess chain that was bought up by Speedway five or six years ago. Yep and have been happy about that when the wife and I visit our parents in Fort Myers and Naples in the winter. Speedway fountain drinks...

Speedway gas stations going bye bye

I can’t believe that I missed this when it was announced in August. 7-Eleven has bought Speedway. Projected regulatory approval is spring https://www.businessinsider.com/7-eleven-to-buy-speedway-gas-stations-21-billion-deal-2020-8 Here I’d actually been patronizing Speedway way more than 7-11 (prior...

Re: Not really a radio topic.... but it is topical.

On November 4th I wrote, "What a terrible shame Mr. Trump can't bring himself to match the grace of his supporters by calling the President Elect, offering a pat on the back, and a sincere concession." I apologize for my error. Many, if not most of Mr. Trumps supporters are anything but gracious. T...

Re: How many have dropped Sirius/XM during the pandemic?

They did the automatic renewal on me for $14.99 a month on one of my vehicles (I had prior notice but forgot about it). I contacted them and they automatically lowered it to $9.99 a month. I asked for their $4.99 a month special they were running on their website. They told me that was for the SXM S...

Re: 106.7 WLLZ: Detroit's Wheels (Classic Rock) is here

Will Wheelz finally put Screamin Scott Randall in morn. drive???? Maybe his no compete is finally up from Beasley. Idk, man. When I think Screamin' Scott, I don't think Queen and Journey. But that's just me. Bring in Screamin', tweak the playlist to mirror Turbo on Sirius XM, and leave the CSX stuf...

Re: Not really a radio topic.... but it is topical.

Frankie, I am an old guy. I heart made that painfully obvious when I turned 61. But I don't weep over politics, and I retired to a 44 foot yacht in Florida four years ago last month. I am bitter only because my wife disliked the boat and asked me to buy a home on shore. Politics is not a spectator ...

Because of the west coast, declaration won’t be until 11pm until their polls close. I agree that Michigan will be called by 10.
Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania will flip back to the Democrats.
Biden elected in a landslide. Senate flips Democratic.

Re: Rock Radio Is Dead (At Least For Me)

This is another point, terrestrial radio can't or won't compete with subscription services like SiriusXM. Do what I did in 2003 to solve that problem - Get SiriusXM. Liquid Metal (Channel 40) or Ozzy’s Boneyard (Channel 38) play those artists. I just renewed my subscription last night for $5 per ve...

Re: CW 46 Trump Town Hall

We get daily emails, phone calls, and social media comments from viewers calling us biased. And then our company only reinforces it by airing this town hall filled with softball questions hosted by a partisan hack. The response from 25-66 management? Crickets. My company is run by idiots. While I a...
