Re: TV FM Antenna Nostalgia

I can't remember the model number but it is the 100 mile range antenna. I see that the ones for sale currently are model # CM 3020.

Re: TV FM Antenna Nostalgia

I have a Channel Master fringe antenna with a rotor that I've had up at 43 feet for 28 years years with a signal amp on it and it works great for off air HD. Toledo looks like local TV from Livonia. I can also pick up Lansing in HD.

Re: LGBTQ+ News Personalities

Yes, she did the weather first, then Jill Washburn later on. By the way it's Bhirdo not Bihrdo. He has a different type of last name so I can see how that can get messed up. I still see Jill on Channel 2 and Syma on Channel 7, I think Bhirdo retired.

Re: Under representation in TV news

I don't know if I could prove it in court, but I would call it over 50 disease, and it's not only happening in the broadcast business. I know seasoned pros in other businesses that have been replaced with younger less expensive candidates. The days of an authoritative anchors like Bill Bonds, Mort C...

Re: Useless

This forum is as useless as tits on a pig. It serves no purpose, other than to tear apart individuals and stations. There has not been a positive post or conversation in weeks. Here is something positive Beerbong just to be a little ray of hope on this board, everyone who watches local News on TV 5...

Re: Cuts at Beasley Detroit

Anne Carlini has the best female voice in Detroit radio, hands down in my book. My prediction is she will be on the air soon somewhere else, she is too much of an on air talent to not get picked up.

Re: WWJ signal problems? (+ WJR audio distortion)

Could it be due to later sunrises and earlier sunsets? Perhaps you lose the HD portion of WWJ's signal when Montréal's 940 (also 50kW) signal comes in by nighttime skywave? The HD drop outs that I'm talking about happen in the middle of the day. I've noticed this in two different vehicles with HD. ...

Re: The anchor shuffle at WWJ

In my opinion, from 10 AM to 7 PM has been all female voices. Before I get jumped on for dissing females on the air, I love good female anchors however, there hasn't be any authoritative male voice on the air during that time period since Greg Bowman retired. Having Jason Scott on the in afternoon d...

Re: WWJ signal problems? (+ WJR audio distortion)

I don't know about anyone else noticing but, WWJ's HD signal drops in and out in areas it never did before. It's been happening at least for two months now. Perhaps the HD Xmiter is on a lower power, setting, that's just a guess because they appear to be at full power on the analog side.

Re: WJR-WWJ Daytime Groundwave vs. Distance Comparison

WWJ radiates a maximum ERP of 381 kW in the horizontal plane, directed toward an azimuth bearing of N353°E.
For some reason I got the wrong information.

Thanks

Re: WJR-WWJ Daytime Groundwave vs. Distance Comparison

WWJ in their major lobe puts out 586KW concentrated power daytime and 620KW at night when they go to 6 towers pulling the signal in from the SSW. That is the reason WWJ is stronger to the north. Picture the signal like a garden hose with a nozzle forcing the water out at a high pressure in one direc...

I haven't heard that one but, I knew someone who could hear a station in their toaster. They lived a quarter mile from the transmitter.
