Re: Fall 2018 Nielsen Audio Quarterly Report ANN ARBOR

As someone who lived in rural Washtenaw Co. for years, I'll pass along that outside of W4, everyone listens to Detroit radio. The top 3 stations numbers reflect A2/Ypsi proper listening habits. Off campus, different story. Ironic that one of the most irrelevant stations in Detroit is the only one th...

We can always hope.

Jim is an excellent broadcaster. My favorite gig of his was PM drive on WNIC.

I tried calling the studio line (313-298-9870) to talk to her, but she didn't pick-up
Voice tracked probably. If she didn't do live service elements (weather, time etc) it was canned.

Re: TV Personalities Moving To Radio

It rarely translates. Ever heard the Mario Lopez abomination on 'NIC? Now, if you're a radio personality that moves to TV, then BACK to radio, say like Towers, different story. Theorectly they understand the medium. TV people don't get it. With respect to Steve and Joanne, whom I enjoyed on TV, hear...

I've honestly never heard of her, and I watch 4 quite a bit.
So yet another rare radio job goes to a non-radio person.
Bravo.

They have to realize us old farts spend tons of money. You're both right. They take trips. They are one of the few demos that regularly buy cars, boats, motorcycles, and own property up north. Not saying people raising family's don't either, but they are paying for phones, sports activities, etc fo...

Re: 98.7 The Breeze just ruined itself with new RnB playlist

Most offices don’t even tune in terrestrial radio due to reception issues with computers and being surrounded by metal, every office I’ve been in it’s always satellite radio and usually a Soft Rock Channel. So as far as 98.7 is concerned good luck trying to attract the office female, most women are...

Re: 98.7 The Breeze (Soft AC) is here!

Well, because if he gives his name then people will realize the station is putting in zero effort by making the building's operations manager do the morning show. You might be over thinking it a bit, junior. Your average listener doesn't know Tim Roberts is the OM of a bunch of stations and doesn't...

Re: 98.7 The Breeze on air line-up

You make some excellent points Circle. The whole "Relaxing favorites at work" station is an outdated concept IMHO. Makes me wonder if radio execs have even observed an office setting in the 21st century. I'd wager the small number of office drones who listen to OTA radio listen in earbuds, because w...

Re: 98.7 The Breeze on air line-up

With no disrespect to any talent of any age, this isn't a personality driven format. It's a background format. As long as whoever you put on sounds pleasant, doesn't get in the way of and seems to know the music, it's fine. Do I think Kevin O'Niell belongs on this station? Of course. Do I think it's...

Is this the Ian Richards that was on WWCK in Flint back in the 90's. And oh...by the way...this is the 11th thread on this station.
No. Ian The Neon was British.

Re: 98.7 The Breeze just ruined itself

They likely did a music test of some kind, and the rhythmic songs tested with the demo they want as P1's.
Stop's passion is commendable, but stations don't make programming decisions based on radio forum chatter.

We get the unique 98.7 The Breeze and some people are so cynical over it because it's "just another AC station", yet they want ANOTHER classic rock station. How about instead of adding yet another classic rock station, the current one(s) are improved?
Logic isn't dead after all.
