Re: Coming Soon From Eton - Grundig

I hope they have corrected the problem with the finish, which broke down to a sticky mess after a couple years. My Brother In Law had an Eton 1 and couldn’t stand to touch it. Couldn’t figure out how to clean it either. There were many online complaints about it. https://antiqueradios.com/forums/vie...

Re: America's Rural Radio Stations Are Vanishing

With the intransigence of NIMBY locals and Zoning Boards, there is nothing wrong with building a temporary facility. Or a quick change to a buildable site. But you have to do it and document it and apply and have the CP for it.

Re: The Big Bang Theory

The show was good when it was about Physics, Engineering, and Biology. When the cast was scared of cancellation the first few years, they held it together. I preferred it when Jim Parsons was not so politically involved. And it affected his performance as he stopped any pretense of acting like his o...

Re: Source: Cumulus Detroit is for sale...

Too few hands own too many stations. If they have 8 stations in a market, or even 5 or less, chances are that one or more of them is considered a throwaway, and they are seriously mismanaged. They just keep them in order to keep them out of the hands of competitors. Usually this is an AM or a seriou...

The Brood-60s 70s Chicken Rock-New Format

60s 70s Chicken Rock, harder rock songs cut out. Will it work? Why or why not?

I prefer Realistic. And 8 Ohm. Bose and Pioneer sound good for their size, but seem overpriced.

Re: FM Stations That Used To Be Listenable In SE MI, But Now Difficult Or Impossible

I just counted 42 stations no longer available on the list. That's pretty dramatic. One has to wonder whether the big owners wanted to turn the band to babble so only their stations are listenable. What did they get? Sirius XM and Alexa, "I'll play whatever I want." They got what they deserved for m...

Re: FM Stations That Used To Be Listenable In SE MI, But Now Difficult Or Impossible

Many of these stations can be heard in some areas by using sophisticated FM DA antennas, some which I would like to buy or build. Even the best tuners, by such manufacturers as McIntosh and Carver, are rendered useless for their intended sophisticated design uses. IBOC is a HUqE problem. Stock, high...

FM Stations That Used To Be Listenable In SE MI, But Now Difficult Or Impossible

Here is a list of stations which used to have listenable service in some or all of Metro Detroit, which are no longer heard, or are heard with great difficulty, due to IBOC sidebands, Translators, and Canadian Border Drop Ins. All of the interfering facilities , as authorized, shown in parentheses, ...

Re: Biden's Done...

I heard yesterday that all of those Creepy Joe Biden videos are photoshopped. And the Democrat word of the day for those videos is "Yawn". That's the first default Democrat response. They only worry if none of the default responses work anymore. It takes a worried man, to sing a worried song. Dems a...

Re: WDTR interfering with 88.7 northern suburbs.

As long as neither use IBOC, a selective tuner should solve the problem. Few Canadians and independent NCEs use IBOC.

As far as I know, all newer cordless phones have scrambling options, if not automatic.

Re: WDTR interfering with 88.7 northern suburbs.

You have to realize that the CIMX signal is not protected outside Canada. You have to realize that out of market stations used to be receivable in the Detroit Metro Area. Not only are almost all the alternate 400 kHz spaced stations blotted out by stations squeezed in from Canada, and almost all the...
