New Daytime Talk Shows

Seeing promos for two new daytime talk shows in syndication this fall. As someone who works from home, I'm always interested in smart and entertaining television during the day. Kelly Clarkson's new daytime show sounds like a lot of fun and worth checking out. While it will be syndicated by NBC Univ...

Re: I now know your pain...

While WGGN may or may not be interested in such programming, seems to me the easiest fix would be WMYD-TV 20. May not be perfect, but they have mostly the same primetime shows as WMNT, as well as Antenna TV on a subchannel.

Re: cumulus unloads 770 wabc

Wow! Excited to see what the new owners do with this legendary/old AM radio station. Sounds like they'll keep it a political talk station, at least for a while.

Re: Network programming preemptions by individual stations

Looks like WDIV will preempt/move NBC programming two nights this week. Tonight from 8:00 to 11:00 for the Ford Fireworks, then a replay of the fireworks Friday night from 8:00 to 10:00. I assume NBC's shows such as "American Ninja Warrior" will be moved to WDIV 4.3 METV, though their Titan TV listi...

Re: I now know your pain...

If that wasn't bad enough, try watching AntennaTV via WMNT 48. Low volume for the network programming and commercials, but brace yourself for the local commercials/psas, loud enough to blast you out of your seat. I wish Buckeye Broadband could offer TV 20 Detroit, WMYD's main channel and AntennaTV s...

Re: 106.5 Toledo

No NBA Finals again on 106.5 Toledo. As I write this, that station just aired an ESPN Sportscenter update, followed by today's episode of "Baseball Tonight podcast." If 106.5 does get sold, wonder if 1230 will pick up any of ESPN Radio's play by play offerings, like Detroit's WDFN used to, maybe sti...

Re: The Ax Falls: 2019 Network TV Cancellations

Just heard on a radio newscast that Disney/ABC has cancelled their syndicated daytime version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" While Chris Harrison did a nice job hosting that show, I don't feel too bad for him, as he seems to be quite busy with other ABC shows.

Re: The Big Bang Theory

Loved the show and the final episode! Maybe I'm overthinking this but my only disappointment was that Raj never found love. He's such a hopeless romantic and even though he was with Buffy, she made it clear to him that they weren't on a date. Glad Raj was able to help Amy find her new look, even tho...

Re: Will URban expand in Toledo?

Yes they still call themselves the station for "hits and oldies" but Joyner, Hughley and Sweat are back on, as of last Wednesday.

Anxious for any news about the new NBC comedy called "Abby's." Really gotten into it lately and hope it continues.

Re: Newest Jeopardy! Uberchampion

Now he gets a break, due to the teachers tournament, probably to study up even more, if that's possible. Love his odd wagers of mostly significant dates to him, on Daily Doubles and Final Jeopardy!

Re: Will URban expand in Toledo?

Yeah, that phone number sounded familiar to me. I think it was used by "The Touch" back then, but as you know, Westwood One took over all those 24/7 formats from ABC. I did hear a Tom Joyner promo, so maybe their keeping that. Also hoping they keep their local mid-day host, Brandy Brown.

Re: Will URban expand in Toledo?

Noticed a change to URban's Mix 95.7 in Toledo today. They seemed to have switched to Westwood One's "Hits & Oldies" 24/7 format. The music is similar to what they had been playing, though not as much new stuff. Don't know about Tom Joyner's show, but D.L. Hughley's show and the "Sweat Hotel" were g...

OOPS. You're right. I misread the SNL listed immediately following the game at 10:00.
