Re: 93.1 Grand Haven
I have tuned in these stations a time or two when around the Grand Haven area. Pretty shabby sounding operation.

Re: 2019 Detroit Tigers
As for Mr. I wanting to hire Gardenhire, not Ausmus. That may be true, but I believe at the time Gardenhire was still under contract and managing the Twins. Of course, there may have been ways around that too. Whatever the case is, Detroit and the state of Michigan are now watching probably the wors...

Re: John Beilein accepts Cleveland Cavs head coaching job
Wow, I'd heard the rumors, but didn't think John would actually go to Cleveland. I'm a Spartan fan, but I've always thought John Beilein was a class act. I wish him luck in the future. He's going to need some luck with that team.

Re: White Cloud Bandscan
I don't believe you are required to ID your HD station on the main frequency, unless you are simulcasting the main frequency on the HD channel too. I've heard the HD station on 107.9 ID as WMUS-HD2 Muskegon. While listening to the Grand Valley stations, the FM's ID as WGVU-FM/Allendale and WGVS-FM/W...

Re: Ides talking "Vehicle" on "Antenna TV"
The Ides of March were really good and should have had more than 1 hit. They had a few other songs that charted and got significant airplay in the midwest. Including You Wouldn't Listen in 1966 and the follow ups to Vehicle, Superman in 1970 and L.A. Goodbye in 1971.

Mike Lareau
I see where former WOOD radio General Manager and later Owner Mike Lareau has passed away at the age of 94. I never had the pleasure of meeting or working with Mike, but WOOD radio was dominant in the market during his time there in the 60's, 70's and 80's. May he R.I.P.

Re: Longest Tigers Affiliate?
The Tigers in Grand Rapids were on a Fetzer owned station WJEF-AM 1230 when I first started listening to the games on radio around 1959. They continued on 1230 after Fetzer sold the station and it became WCUZ until sometime in the late 80's or so. The Tigers have also been heard through the years on...

I see in the Grand Rapids Press today that former air personality Tom Ambrose has passed away. Tom worked at several stations in West Michigan through the years including WGRD and was Program Director at WERX during their Top 40 years in 1966-67. I first met Tom in the mid 60's when he was at WERX a...

Re: Longest Tigers Affiliate?
I believe WBRN in Big Rapids has been airing the Tigers since the early to mid 60's. I remember listening to the tigers on BRN when we were in the area on vacation. AM went off at sunset, but the games continued on the FM.

Re: Grammy's Rant
Rock and Roll music and Pop Music, pretty much one in the same until the late 60's-early 70's when the top 40 format began to splinter and gave birth to the AOR and A/C formats.
