I know the radio voice wasn't real in The Warriors but wouldn't it be cool if she was, (Voiced by the late Lynn Thigpen.)

Yeah, I'm old enough to remember "Lancelot Link and the Evolution Revolution." I was more into The Archies and Hot Wheels (cartoon).

I've had one in my rack for about 5 years, I think I've only turned it on and messed around with it once.

Re: Looks like the Orbit Room is finally toast; share your memories here!

Back in my days at LAV we had the Black Crowes come to town for the first time and I remember the tickets were only $8 - great show! Also, in our brief run of "new music" we had the Rollins Band there around '91 and that was a standout for me. Was that the Black Crowes' show where somebody stole th...

Re: Ivan Reitman dies

Ivan who? Ivanho This "----- who?" schtick is getting tiresome. Animal House which he produced, and Ghostbusters and Stripes that he directed are classic movies. Not to mention the guy is a Canadian. Agree. The predictable "_______ who?" response implies the person's death isn't worth mentioning. I...

Re: EMU TV Spots' Audio Beeps

Years ago I produced a radio spot for a local (small) agency. The guy that owns the agency wanted to approve the spot, but I suspected he might want to use it at another radio group without my approval, so I put a "beep" about every 5 seconds, thought being that he could hear the spot for approval, ...

Re: I'll give Cumulus credit for one thing...

Signal range has more to do with the local signal milieu, stations and translators. In the case of WBCT, the station in Harrietta, WKAD, limits it in areas formerly receiving fringe service. Keep in mind that WBCT would not be allowed any more than 50 kw/150 meters if it had been authorized today o...

Saw all caps on Townsquare station's RDS as well, not just a Cumulus thing. Did not see any morning show mention on Hot-FM RDS just, maybe just runs during the morning show?

Re: Ron Bushy (Iron Butterfly) dies

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida was the first album I bought (5th grade, 1970), read every word on that cover over-and-over, I still remember his picture/bio on back cover. And of course, I tried to play along with his drum solo using Tinker-Toy sticks and Tupperware containers. I also learned that adding dry ma...

Re: Girls-Why Would You Go Near This Guy?

I pretty sure the only woman who got near him were paid to do so back in the '80s and '90s. Although his "big" break was appearing in Playgirl magazine back in the late '70s I believe.
