Paul Osentoski passes

WMIC announcer and engineer Paul Osentoski passes away. The polka shows were very popular in the thumb. The signal got down reasonably well in Macomb and parts of Oakland counties as well. May he rest in peace. https://www.sanilacbroadcasting.com/2024/03/15/longtime-sanilac-broadcasting-personality-...

Re: Ford Offering Update to Keep AM Radio in EVs

Oh wow, I'm wounded. Way more pathetic than creating multiple fake personas with fake "real names" to make scores of mindless fantasy radio posts, for sure. Go jerk off to Marsha Blackburn you shut in moron. It's gone again. You scared off "Mark Nelson". LOL. I've lost track of all the names; Steve...

Re: Cornhole

So, they're playing a game here now they call cornhole. I'm old enough to remember when cornhole was a vulgar term. If you had asked some guy to play cornhole you might have got a punch in the mouth. I've played that since I was a kid. But it seems it started getting called Cornhole only in the las...

Bring back the Tom Kopeck club. (Doubt it would happen because he’s retired)

Re: Ford Offering Update to Keep AM Radio in EVs

AM radio has the distance factor. AM stations can travel hundreds or even thousands of miles at night. If there was an emergency situation in the Eastern part of the country and there was still the possibility that other parts of the country still had power, those 50kw stations could still get info...

Re: Ford Offering Update to Keep AM Radio in EVs

AM is still needed, glad it's being kept in cars. I was listening to AM580 today while driving. 💯 agree. AM Radio is important for emergency situations. When the power grid fails for whatever reason like hacking by terrorist, EMP or failure just by the age of our power grid, AM Radio can play an im...

Re: 1090am WCAR

Yet again, dead air. Don’t know how long it’s been like this. I’ve noticed it for the past 10 minutes.

Sima, just turn in the license already.

Re: Jonathan Smith new Spartan head coach

Does this guys resume look like Spartyville will only be a steppingstone to the next gig?

It takes at least 5 years to get a program running on all cylinders, especially now the Spartan Football program is going back to rebuilding from scratch.

Maybe make Spartan football a club sport?

Re: WJBK-TV 2 sign-off from the late 1970s/early 1980s

Probably an announcer read the sign-off script, played the Air Force film of the National Anthem, then, cut power to the transmitter. It was a pretty standard and mundane procedure at all the stations.

Re: Tow truck tipping

Long story short. I broke down in the middle of PA at 2:30am. Called a tow truck. Arrived in 15 minutes. Towed my vehicle (and me) to the nearest dealership about 10 miles away. Unloaded vehicle in the dealership lot. He then drove me to the nearest hotel (Hampton Inn). He waited and made sure that...

Re: Paying to have your old car showroom new

Seems like a paint job and detailing would be close and not cost an arm and a leg. Sorry to burst your anti-union masturbation session, but vehicle prices will rise regardless of the UAW or Fain. Pleasuring stockholders is the sole focus of the auto industry. Oh, I forgot paying CEO’s and executives...
