101.3 adds a bunch of 90's music to playlist; keeps horrible Cleveland morning show

70's classic rock has been scaled back sharply, and a lot of mainstream 90's rock songs have been added. 80's butt rock continues to be a substantial part of the playlist. Not sure this will do a damn thing to help 101.3's fortunes given the fact the extremely unpopular Rover's Morning Glory remains...

Re: Breaking: Nexstar reaches agreement to purchase Tribune

Fox is clearly the national leader in sports.
If you factor in their cable networks - sure.

But as far as broadcast TV goes - I'd put CBS right up there.

Re: Breaking: Nexstar reaches agreement to purchase Tribune

E.W. Scripps to acquire WXMI, the Fox affiliate in Grand Rapids as part of Nexstar divestiture. That's a shame. Scripps does a terrible job with some of its stations. They've run WXYZ Detroit into the ground over the past decade. RTV-6 in Indianpolis has been in third or fourth place forever. Ditto...

Yet another jock leaves 105.1 the Bounce

The revolving door at 105.1 the Bounce remains in full effect.

This time, Shay Shay exits.

For a station as successful as that one, it sure sees an ungodly amount of turnover in the on-air talent realm.

Re: 106.7 WLLZ: Detroit's Wheels (Classic Rock) is here

Listened earlier today, and heard "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" by Smashing Pumpkins (great song) segue into a really shitty Journey song. Sorry, I just don't see what's so special about this station. 75% of the playlist is the same shit WCSX plays, the remaining 25% of the playlist consists of musi...

That's a good recipe for a 1.5 - 1.8 share, exactly where 93.1 sits today.

Re: February 2019 Radio PPM Ratings

What Cumulus ought to do is sell...sell...SELL!!! I disagree with the assertion that WJR isn't dying. It *is* dying, albeit very gradually. 'JR used to be a perennial 7 share radio station. Then 6. Then 5. Now. a 3.5 share (with a median listener age that almost assuredly exceeds 60) is considered "...

RE: Gnash - Crappy syndicated morning show, excessive tightening of the playlist, and loss of Dave Fuller from afternoon drive will do that! LOL

Re: 98.7 The Breeze just ruined itself with new Fresh / RnB playlist

98.7 had an OK ratings period in February. 3.6 in ages 6+. Would love to know how they fared in P25 to 54. WOMC is still lower than they once were, and WNIC has been barely fazed. WCSX continues to post near record high numbers, and WWJ had another great month as well. 105.9 Kiss is getting its cloc...

Re: Channel 95.5

Most AMP's listeners were middle school and high school aged kids. CBS did a reprehensibly bad job of making that station relevant to anyone over the age of 18 and especially anyone over the age of 21.

I started hearing them in the trees and ornamentals a couple weeks ago and in recent days have spotted a few in my yard. Rabbits and squirrels have also come out in force within the past 7 to 10 days.

Re: Channel 95.5

Exactly. There is no room for a second CHR given the current state of the format.

96.3 has already increased rhythm gold spins and eliminated all music prior to 1995 from its playlist.

...and that would none other than WOOD-TV's, Henry Erb. He's been working at News 8 for as long as I can remember watching local news (I remember seeing him on the air 30+ years ago). He does a PHENOMENAL job. I greatly enjoy his no-nonsense, informative, well-researched reporting. We need many more...

"Big Rig." Voicetracker used on numerious iFart rock & classic rock stations. For years, he was based at 98Rock in Tampa. Not sure if that's still the case.

A remarkable storm for Michigan given its longevity and peak strength. The fact it occurred in the first half of March makes it even more remarkable.
