I know NBC has paired Savannah Guthrie with Holt to anchor presidential debates, election night, etc. While I think she would be a great successor, I can’t imagine NBC wanting to pull her from Today shortly after losing Hoda. What basis do you have for it being an “epic fail?” Broadcast ratings? Streaming? Social? Website? Does anybody really know? It’s not like 10 years ago where we judge “success” solely on broadcast ratings.

As a “lifestyle” anchor I think she’s unrelatable to most people. That’s the key. Even celebrities and millionaire personalities can be relatable if they remind you of your best friend or funny coworker. She would probably be much better imo as a straight news anchor or reporter.

What’s wrong with Jamie? I always felt she did a good job, although I do think Hobie is stronger.
