Re: All bets are off

Once again, Soundchaser acts like a spoiled 3rd grader. All he adds to any conversation are insults. Prove me wrong. When Bondy comes back from his vacation and is back on air, I’ll expect an apology from Soundchaser. I won’t get it, because… well, Soundchaser is just a troll and Sinclair managemen...

Re: All bets are off

Bondy is visiting friends at a former station where he used to work. I don’t think he has any interest in leaving mid-Michigan since he has young kids in school. But as Soundchaser points out… what’s the worse the station could do? Fire him? If I were Dave I’d take the separation money and run. Aga...

Re: All bets are off

I've never seen anything like this. You've got Dave Bondy, on his employer's Facebook page, saying he will no longer update there and encourages "the customers" to follow him personally. It's like a real estate agent, while still working for a broker, telling the broker's followers to follow them, ...

Re: NBC25 and FOX 66 changes

Not even an apt comparison, Soundchaser, and you know it. And if you think the Sinclair lawyers are that buttoned up, let me present you exhibit 1: the failed bid for Tribune that was a “done deal” until the FCC had its say. I wouldn’t let Sinclair lawyers try a case in the People’s Court, much les...

Re: NBC25 and FOX 66 changes

Soundchaser: douth protest way too much… And let’s be clear… it’s not all about profits. FCC licenses require stations to work in the public interest. Laying off local broadcasters and reducing newscasts (including eliminating news in mornings and weekends) can be argued are contrary to their FCC m...

Re: More layoffs going down at Sinclair Stations including Flint

First, they let you go for no fault of your. Secondly, they did it to save money — so it’s unlikely they will go through costly legal process that they will likely lose. Third, the FTC has already indicated (although it hasn’t made a final determination) that these types of non-compete restrictions...

If I were the suits at NBC and FOX, I'd be calling up the folks at WNEM and WJRT at this rate.
And it is a possibility that might already be going on.
Why? 25, 66 and 46 knock down a lot of money regardless
of news. The bottom line is profits, and 25, 66 & 46 deliver consistently.

GM Becky and News Director Karin can’t be OK with this…
Stink.
You really have no clue.

Re: NBC25 and FOX 66 changes

A few more behind the scenes, but yes, so many good people were let go. Former anchor Bill Harris was helping out produce newscasts for the last couple of months and was let go. He and his daughter in law Hannah (who is married to Chris, a corporate engineer) were there volunteering and were let go...

Re: More layoffs going down at Sinclair Stations including Flint

Still offering nothing new Soundchaser. Not sure why you are obsessed with attacking me and defending the indefensible approach that Sinclair is making at its stations. Maybe it’s because you’re part of the problem/an insider stooge? Or just someone who doesn’t know what it takes to actually do the...

Ahhh, good morning Soundchaser! It’s a beautiful day for you… offering zero substance to yet another thread. I hope you are enjoying the day under your bridge. Come back when you can provide actual information, you management and corporate apologist. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2023/3/18/sinc...

I hope Karin, Ashley and Becky are sleeping well taking their orders from Scott Livingston and other corporate lackeys. They shouldn’t be surprised when their job is next.
This last statement really shows that you really have no clue.

Re: Gone after 24 years

And for management apologist Soundchaser… stations can pay better. They choose not to. Just look at their quarterly financial disclosures. Flint TV stations can absolutely pay Detroit rates for its employees. Managers choose not to. In fact, at 25-66 the GM has a financial incentive not to. They ge...

Re: Gone after 24 years

One of the best directors in Flint is now leaving 25-66. Craig Beechler directed weekday evening shows for 24 years at WEYI & WSMH. Says a lot when a guy who has literally made a career here, set up roots here, says it’s no longer worth it. He’s got a great gig lined up in Detroit. What it says is,...

And with his final retort, Stink said. "WOW! I think I'm finally ready to join the 7th grade debate team!"
