Could be WSNX 104.5 Muskegon. By the time you get to Sanford, it's not that far away.

Re: Anyone Remember This Restaurant In Grand Rapids?
They tore down Herpolsheimer's in the 1970s as I recall. I pushed the button that stopped the escalator when I was about three years old. It was the biggest thing to happen in Grand Rapids all day. They had an escalator system that narrowed as you went up the floors, like the "Man Store" in the joke.

Used to eat there on visits to Western Michigan. It was Gerald Ford's favorite restaurant. Also Holly's for breakfast.
Fulton and Fuller as I remember.

This is a Special Temporary Authority. You are allowed 1/4 power nondirectional, generally for six months, with another six months extension normally granted. Some stations can extend it for years, with assurances that progress is being made on a permanent facility. 1/4 Day power would normally be 1...

Hasn't Canada turned off their Weather Radio stations? Those duplicated many nearby US NOAA facilities, so it might have opened things up.
It looks like you are close to the Longley Rice Fringes of KIH-29.

WIXX 101.1 has been a perennial for decades, if you can null out WRIF, under fairly normal conditions, even in Eastern Michigan North of "WOMC" (acronym for Wayne Oakland Macomb Counties, for future reference). Obviously, you have to have a beam antenna with a sharp null. Now there's WGRY Grayling, ...

In most cases you can go by some approximation of ROYGBIV, or in this case, reversed as VIBGYOR. Violet is cold, red is hot. R Red O Orange Y Yellow G Green B Blue I Indigo V Violet Or you can use your decent or indecent resistor code mnemonics to remember it, removing a few missing colors. Many thi...

Re: Some Longley-Rice maps are available for FM stations at rabbitears.info!
After spot checking about 10 to 12 different FM stations, I can say the rabbitears.info maps tend to underestimate actual signal strength, especially if we're talking outdoor or mobile reception. I'm not sure this is exactly accurate. I would certainly agree that reception is POSSIBLE far beyond th...

Re: Green Bay OTA TV reception from manistee
Near Racine and Kenosha, there are many area specials that receive signals from both Milwaukee and Chicago. As I recall, areas in Kent County and points NW, had antennas for 3 and 8, and another for 13, and secondarily for 2, 5, and 11 from Green Bay. In the Summer, it was almost normal for tropo to...

Re: Ratings!
The Valleys of the Valley City do quite a bit of attenuation and fluctuation to the 320 kW WBCT signal, even within the Grand Rapids City Limits. I observed this way back in the early 1970s with my Sony Portable with a signal strength meter, and saw the fluctuation riding in a car. It was still 500 ...

Re: Green Bay OTA TV reception from manistee
It appears that Televes uses dBi gain figures, which are 2.15 dBi higher than dBd. So you might want to take their gain figures taking that into consideration. I'm not sure how they are getting VHF High gain, even 5 dBi. It is good that they have a resonant VHF Low Folded Dipole. One person's review...

WYBR operates at nondirectional reduced power under Section 73.215, a Class C3 with 10.5 kW from 133 meters. It is short spaced to WMUK 102.1 and WIOG 102.5. This is equivalent to 18 kW from 100 meters.

Why hasn't Mentor Partners upgraded the Country format to the much stronger 102.3 signal? Think about it. B93 now suffers interference from WKAD. 106.3 Lakeview dumped Country ages ago. WMUS-FM, which used to smother Newaygo County with a signal at 106.9 MHz, now broadcasts from 107.9, which cannot...
