I've noticed that TV5 doesn't even send a reporter to Lansing anymore. They just rely on reports from a local Lansing station instead.

There's some scuttlebutt on Facebook that 100.9 WLUN is being sold and changing format away from sports. This is the radio station owned by the Great Lakes Loons and an affiliate of ESPN. Has anyone else heard this?

Lansing can't support a 4PM newscast why it is only 30 minutes and couldn't support 2 & half hours of news 4PM to 6:30PM. I believe that WWMT will start up a 4PM newscast in the fall Dr. Phil moves to sister station CW7 which already airs Dr. Phil at 10AM to 11AM. Or maybe they pair Kelly Clarkson ...

He retired from TV5 and I believe he teaches broadcasting at Mott College.

At one time before Fox sold the reginal sports networks, the Illitch family was looking to start their own sports channel for the Detroit/Michigan market. I believe historically Fox Sports Detroit has pulled in decent ratings.

On the 6:00 TV5 news tonight they had a story about tomorrow night's Spirit game but were showing Firebirds highlights in the background. The only connection was they were playing the Spirit in the highlights.

No sports again last night at 11:00 on TV5. Saturday and Sunday are the busiest sports days of the week.

No sports again on TV5 at 11:00 on a Friday night when there's lots to talk about, especially high school basketball and Spirit hockey (I'm not sure if the Firebirds were playing).

TV5 isn't much better. They didn't even have a sports report on last night's 11:00 news, and rarely have sports during the 6:00 news. Instead they leave it or Meg or David to read sports they know little about.
