Was he always at WJW in Cleveland?
No. He worked at WKYC for a time before moving to Philly for a very short time but ended up moving back to Cleveland, where he started his long career at WJW.

Legendary Cleveland meteorologist Dick Goddard dies at 89

Dick Goddard, who was for 5 decades the evening weatherman at WJW, died today at 89. He was the meteorologist there well into his 80's and won the world record for longest career as a weather forecaster. May he R.I.P.

So Sad. 48 is way too young to die. He seemed to handle his diagnosis and treatment very well. R.I.P Jamie.

Re: Jeff Smith, Joe Nugent out at WTVG

I actually do like Jeff and have heard is a good guy. Judging from what I read in the article, he might not have left on the best of terms. Good luck to where he lands next. Joe was very good too and Working in Omaha has to be an upgrade for him.

Re: TV show "Cops" officially cancelled after 31 years on the air

It looks like A&E's ratings have dropped 49% since Live PD'S cancellation. The backlash is still happening on social media. Years-old reruns of Storage Wars are among the programming airing in Live PD's old timeslots. https://www.forbes.com/sites/rosaescandon/2020/07/24/ae-sees-viewership-drop-49-af...

Re: Channel 7 weather FAIL

If you thought the watch/ warning icon was obnoxious, Sinclair's bottom crawl covers half of the screen, much larger than needed. I'm not sure if they still use it with their new graphics or not.

Re: "30 Rock: A one-time special"

I'm a fan of 30 Rock and have the set on DVD. I'm not understanding why NBC affiliates are refusing to air the special. The big owners thought since this special was to promote Peacock, it was going to cut into their profits. Plus, I think this special was optional to affiliates, but I'm not quite ...

They have a younger female jock on the air now. She isn't on the website either, but I don't know if she's totally absent or not.

What's your typical FM Dial?

What FM stations do you typically receive on your car or home radio where you live? I saw a now-deleted topic on here from 2010 using the Internet Archive and was curious about how much the dial has changed since then. These are during typical atmospheric conditions.

Re: TV show "Cops" officially cancelled after 31 years on the air

I had no idea COPS was still in production. Watching officers pull over suspected drunken drivers and dealing with hillbilly domestic incidents becomes old hat after a while. I'm sure it'll return to air - either in the form of new episodes or reruns - in the not too distant future. My guess is one...

Re: 1130 "The Fan" to disappear- iHeart launching new network

The website Awful Announcing had an article about the format flip. Mentioning how 1130 used to be the leader of sports talk in Detroit, but had its slow downfall starting on Obama's Inauguration day in 2009 when most of the local hosts were fired. I'll have to stream it on the internet to see what I...

When it comes to speeding up music excessively, the former 94.3 the Bone takes the cake.
