Re: Booming in from the north

Here's one booming in pretty strongly from the south at the moment: 92.1 WOHF from Bellevue, OH. Confirmed via RDS. Heard Motley Crue "Smokin' in the Boys Room" moments ago. https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WOHF&service=FM I never knew this station existed. A decade ago, that station was ...

Re: K 106.3 becomes Cool 106.3

Doubtful. 100.7 Windsor is licensed as a repeater of 95.1 Chatham-Kent and therefore can't change. 106.3's signal doesn't penetrate the heart of Chatham-Kent well enough for it to be a separate format targeting both Sarnia and Chatham. If anything, I could see them consolidating the programming on a...

Re: WOMC 90s Music - my additions

Some of the softer songs on your list are in rotation on 98-7 The Breeze. For example, "Baby Baby" was played just this evening. I wouldn't expect to see a lot of those softer AC titles make it to 104.3's rotation though, especially as long as The Breeze is still around to handle the softer side of ...

Didn’t WCPZ 102.7 have a call letter change in the late 90’s as WMTX and then eventually went back to WCPZ.
You're correct. I think the WCPZ calls were temporarily moved to 100.9 in Clyde during that time.

Re: WLEC changes formats and bumpers, seems to have gone Classic Hits

Who's retiring from WLEC? And isn't their HD-2 the same as the HD-1 most of the time? WLEC is an AM/FM translator combo in Sandusky. Are you perhaps thinking of WLEN in Adrian? (Their HD2 was the same as their HD1 until recently when they adopted a sports format on HD2 and the 96.5 translator.) Mar...

Re: North Goes South?

Ugggggh! I loathe Dan + Shay. They are even more unbearable than Sam Hunt and Florida Georgia Line. A survey of the deer herd is underway. :) What I hate the most about Dan & Shay is that they call themselves country when they're about as country as Michael Bolton. Oh, and that they brought JUSTIN ...

Re: North Goes South?

Check the patterns first. I'm not sure cows and buffalo get diaries. I did market research; they love retro country music. :) What about deer? You can't ignore the deer. ;) I'd contribute. Sure would be nice to have a country station to listen to when I'm at my family's vacation home that doesn't p...

Re: Lima/Lima

We have two right here in Washtenaw County that non-locals often get wrong. Saline is pronounced "suh-LENE" (as in the Anglicized pronunciation of "Celine (Dion)"), not "SAY-lene" as in "saline solution." Milan is "MY-lan," not "Mih-LAN" as in the city in Italy. I imagine "Char-LOTTE" instead of "CH...

WLNZ 89.7 FM Shutting Down

Budget cuts due to COVID-19 were cited as the reason. Not clear whether they're turning in the license or plan to sell the station later.

Re: Amp Radio In Boston Goes Big

Obviously Chris, you come here to be a troll. Enough of your drama. You sound soooo gay! Outkast was THE top group, when DRQ flipped. Not just 1 song. Now, if the date was wrong Chris, suck it up like a man. And if I remember, Shania Twain was not hip hop. You are clearly twisting words to fit your...

Re: Amp Radio In Boston Goes Big

From what I have noticed, L.A. and even Detroit, that all AMP Radios became more Urban, like 96.3 was in the early to mid 90's. Then DRQ went from LGBT Dance to Hip Hop/Urban, then country. notice none of those stations are around today, as they were... with exception to 97-1 Amp (KAMP). If they ie...

Spring/Summer 2020 Tropos

Last night was perhaps the first big FM opening of the season for me (I missed the previous E-skip openings). Better late than never, I suppose. South Bend/Michana area was in like a ton of bricks here in the Ann Arbor area. Nothing really new, but it was nice to see the dial pop again. Some highlig...

Re: Worst-sounding radio stations of all-time.

I haven't heard them lately, but WKYO 1360 in Caro sounded downright awful (audio wise) during its Oldies format, and IIRC during the previous Real Country era as well. I liked the music, but you had to turn the volume all the way up to hear it.
