Re: 2019 Detroit Tigers

Toledo is a dive, but Fifth Third Field is a very nice park. And if you don't want to pay stadium prices for food and beer there are plenty of bars and restaurants in downtown Toledo. It's possible to park free on the street for weekend games if you get there early enough.

Re: Syndication

The Simpsons episode "City of New York vs. Homer Simpson" which heavily features the World Trade Center was taken out of circulation for several years following 9/11, at the discretion of the individual stations airing the series.

Re: Bob & Tom done in northwest Indiana

The show has never done well in major markets. It lasted about three months in Detroit, for example. I have never understood how it has lasted so long, especially in smaller markets. Two guys laughing for three hours is not good radio. I don't want to call people in smaller markets hicks and rubes,...

Bob & Tom done in northwest Indiana

https://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/post-tribune/ct-ptb-potempa-column-st-0613-story.html Closest thing they've had to a Chicago affiliate since their brief stint on the walking corpse of WRCX for a few months in 1998 after Mancow jumped to Q101. Good. They've always sucked and one of the guys th...

Re: 106.5 Toledo

Yeah, 10 years ago the Ticket on 1470 and Zone on 106.5 were both good stations. Typical Cume-U-Less penny pinching and ineptitude ran both into the ground. By the time they'd rejuvenated XKR a bit by bringing Michaels and Grizzly in,, they'd lost their chance to really kick IOT's ass because the Zo...

Re: 106.5 Toledo

Nah, really only the weekend stuff with Ragtime Rick and the Spanish programming is brokered anymore. The local morning weekday show is not, and of course most of the rest of the time during the week they just run FSR unless the Mud Hens, Walleye or Pistons are playing. It's not like 10-15 years ago...

Re: 106.5 Toledo

Oh yeah, Fox Sports Radio sucks, but one local show is better than 0, which is what 106.5 really has.

Re: 106.5 Toledo

89X has a much better signal into Toledo than 97.1, and virtually all other Detroit FMs, though. It has to be a Christian broadcaster that buys 106.5, it gives a city grade signal to more cows than people. Move OSU football to XKR, hoops to 100.7. I guess they can put the Lions on 94.5 too, although...

106.5 Toledo

Can one of the Christian broadcasters buy this station so it can be put out of its misery already? I wanted to listen to the NBA finals game last night in the car and instead they were airing ESPN Radio's alternate feed, which was running a damn baseball podcast. 94.5 and 100.7 didn't have the hoops...

Re: Gray Stations to revive daily Star Spangled Banner closings

They seemed to imply every Gray station in the country is doing this. I wonder when WTVG will air the anthem? Logically a good time would be 4:30 AM, after America This Morning and before the start of the awful morning news giggle fest with Sashem Brey and Jeff Smith's hairpiece.
