Re: Radio Ratings: October 8 - November 4
WDFN going to BIN eroded whatever numbers they had. Does this format draw anywhere? I’ve heard the New Orleans and Dayton stations- the latter is on a terrible Class IV signal.
WJR’s bounce is obviously due to the election.

Re: The Breeze Drifts Away
The River had terrible ratings in Detroit in their last book (granted, about three years ago). I doubt moving their focus to Windsor helped the Detroit numbers. I rarely listened to the Breeze, but it makes so sense to dump a format with ratings like that. How were they billing? Alt 98.7 probably dr...

Re: 89X,93.9 The River & AM580 are Gone
CKWW’s pattern is aimed to the northeast, so the signal is great in Sarnia and London. It’s weak in the western Detroit suburbs and practically unlistenable in Ann Arbor. Toledo is hit or miss. They are licensed at 500 watts by the way. I have no idea if they are running that as I live in one of the...

Re: Get Matt Patricha fired!!
No points against a bad team. I wish the Cowboys would have been dumb enough to take Stafford off their hands. I don’t want to hear injury excuses either- look at how many of the greats have played injured yet still performed. The whole staff needs to go and they desperately need a QB, among other t...

If you are near Ann Arbor, you could try 107.1 . I was never much of a River fan, but I could at least tolerate it at times unlike the sleepy WQKL. College kids love it though.

Classic Rock/Blues hybrid in Mobile
I was in Mobile, AL for a few days and heard an interesting station- a translator of WZEW’s HD2 station, on 96.5 FM. It’s a hybrid of classic rock and blues. Some of it you hear elsewhere, but they played some deep cuts, like off of the first Dire Straits album for example. Not bad for a terrestrial...

Re: America's Truckin Network cancelled
I heard the overnight show on WLW last week. Very political, with mostly conservative truckers calling.

Re: 98.7 Alternative!
MW’s artists would have me tune in more, that’s for sure. As long as there isn’t much Green Day... I have never liked them even in their prime 25 years ago.

Re: RIP 89X
I heard both 88.7 and 93.9 today for the first time since the change. Not a country fan, but the audio quality on 88.7 is pretty good. Still lost their preset. 93.9 is hot garbage like I thought. I was surprised to heard commercials so soon- perhaps the former River advertisers? They played somethin...

Re: 98.7 Alternative!
I heard a bit today since I returned home. The signal comes in starting around Perrysburg (never knew that- I never think of 98.7 normally). Too much emo crap and rap-rock. It gets a preset for now, if only to see if they start playing better music.

Re: 98.7 Alternative!
There’s a daytimer in upstate New York that targets Toronto, to the point of broadcasting from there. Why the FCC and CRTC allows that but frowns upon Windsor stations targeting Detroit is a mystery.

Re: 98.7 Alternative!
89X didn’t have great numbers. In Detroit, it was around a 1.0 a few years ago, it was probably even lower since they started ignoring the city. It didn’t draw well in Windsor either. Why they think grabbing this small amount of listeners is a good idea makes no sense, unless they think they can pic...
