Re: UAW strikers moved to COBRA health coverage

I wonder what percent of their COBRA coverage they'll have to pay? I'm betting it is MUCH more than the % that GM was asking in the negotiations!

Re: Any news today?

True story: A close relative of mine worked at the GM foundry in Pontiac. The broom closest was retrofitted with card table a four chairs for card playing One day the "Big Boss" came through and made them get rid of it. Someone posted on the door of the broom closet a picture of a table and drew a ...

Re: Kavanaugh

No matter. All the folks I mentioned will always be prisoners of their own sex perv reputations. Because that’s what they did to themselves. Stay tuned as they continue their behaviors. Which require other people. And those “other people” tell friends or family or doctors, etc. It all eventually ge...

Re: Republican Primaries Nixed in Several States!

I don't think the taxpayers should be paying for primaries at all, if they are based on a political party. Why should the government support this??? It's OK if they have a primary to narrow down the field from an unmanageable amount (20?) to something that would fit on a general election ballot (6-1...

Re: Any news today?

Be interesting to organize a 1000 car "parade" made of foreign cars and just drive by the various sites on strike... maybe just keep driving around the block they're striking on for an hour or two at each site.

Re: Creditor Left Homeless after Trump Stiffs Him for $1 Trillion

If those vehicles really belonged to the Mafia, is this a problem that's going to fix itself with no court intervention necessary?

Re: Most Dangerous Roads In Michigan

I've often pondered something about lane closures. What do you think about this? Instead of having two lanes merge into each other, make an "Exit Only Lane" at the last, or the next major exit before the merge would of been, where many cars get off anyway. Sign it up real good for a couple of miles...

Here we go again. Another on-air talent using news-time to call out a viewer. https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/tv/2019/09/10/kgw-tv-anchor-maggie-vespa-hits-back-male-viewer-air-rebuke/2272373001/ It's a visual medium, right? Why shouldn't viewers give her feedback on what looks good an...

Re: Most Dangerous Roundabouts In Michigan

The reason they use them is that it (supposedly) reduces fatal or severe accidents. Non-fatal and non-severe accidents do increase quite significantly though. The idea is that vehicles hit at oblique angles and not head on or at right angles.

Re: Most Dangerous Roads In Michigan

- The roundabouts at the Green Oak Village Place exit off US-23. The should eliminate the two next to each other and just make it one H*** roundabout. (edit: "h-u-g-e" is a bad word??) The industry nickname for two roundabouts being placed near each other is called "dumbells". Probably for the desi...

Re: Comparing the weather radars

What I also noticed was that on the Fox2 weather site (not their app), they have two maps below the radar for "weather advisories" and "watches and warnings". Under the Weather Stories, they had an article about the entire area being under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch, but neither of the maps showed ...

Re: 9-11 remembrance

This may be the only time I ever say this, but cut LL some slack. (S)he lost loved ones on 9/11, and for that, I give my condolences. What's weird is that I fully agree with his initial post (and the first followup). Why he jumped on my response to someone else's post and tried to defend Arabs as a...

Re: Old cable lineups

Note that the both Saults were once on a common system--Continental Cablevision--which launched in 1961. I don't think that was Continental Cablevision - might have been something similar. Continental started in 63 in Tiffin and Fostoria in Ohio. Their first franchises in Michigan were in Jackson, ...

Re: Comparing the weather radars

So, as the storm is rolling over my house right now, I went to check the radar to see how long it's going to last. Fox2 has what appears to be YESTERDAYs radar image showing. I was looking at it about this time yesterday and the image is exactly (or near as I can recall) what it looked like at this ...

So you’re responding to what someone else said and attribute it to me?

Got it, Skippy.
What an idiot. Go back and re-read the thread.

I responded to F-squared, highlighting his (hers) applicable words and asked "So, "Arab" is a race now??", but then YOU responded to that with "Yes"
