Re: WPON testing again ?

WCXI 1160 has never yet stopped the scan in either of my cars. I've been over by Livernois and Square Lake and it still didn't stop it. Thats about 22 miles from the site. I've been closer but only at Night when it was buried in interference from WYLL.

Re: Townsquare Translators Rochest iner, MN

Looks like they dropped in 103.9 to Eyota, MN, and they had to move. Wonder what the boundaries were when KROC-FM was authorized. Looks like they are on a TV transmiting tower.

Re: Q106 interference

If any of you have FIM meters or spectrum analyzers that show quantified interference of translators to stations, or evidence of illegal operation of such, I think the FCC would have to act on that information. That would be more than a listener complaint. A broadcaster or engineer would have more s...

Re: Townsquare Translators Rochester, MN

Wonder what happened to KROC 107 and 104." Surprisingly, it looks like the call letters have been there since the AM signed on, and no one bought a call letter swap. FM TL has always been way out where the 3.16 mV/m didn't reach all of COL at least under current borders and curves. https://licensin...

Townsquare Translators Rochester, MN

Townsquare has 3 collocated translators multiplexed into a three bay crossed V Bext antenna at the Townsquare Studios in central Rochester, MN. One carries their AM station on 1340, KROC, on 96.9. A second one on 104.9 fills in KYBA, a 50 kW rimshot FM 30 miles away. The third repeats KROC-FM, a 100...

WLDM 95.5 later became WCZY, and later WDEE/WLQV 1500 was WCZY and simulcasted Beautiful Music as I recall.

Re: Beautiful Music Stations in Detroit

WHFI/WHNE/WMJC/WCSX sure went through a lot of facility changes. It's hard to make sense of the History Card. There's a proof of performance notation, and an agreement with WCEN-FM, but I don't see where it was directional. Never heard of a proof for an FM DA except antenna range tests.

All Markets below 10 are training grounds. Always have been. When I was a small chid, Casey Kasem and JP McCarthy worked in my hometown.

Re: LED Lighting

The bluish light is actually WORSE for the eyes. The BLUE light from bluish LEDs and CFLs is much greater than for incandescent lights. It has to do with the spectrum of light. Incandescent light has a color temperature of 2700-2800 Kelvin. The higher the color temperature, the bluer the light. The ...
