Your Current News Sources

In the last three weeks, roughly since the first official government reactions to coronavirus appearing in Michigan. For me, no Detroit television news or daily newspapers. Too much emotion on TV and I don't want to carry bad news around with me in a daily newspaper. The quick pace of events also ma...

He's gone for good.
I'll believe it when I see it. To paraphrase Charlton Heston, Ronnie won't quit until they tear the microphone from his cold, dead hands.

"I've been curious about the marijuana shops. Why are they considered essential?"

"Well, they're allowing liquor sales, aren't they?"

"But those stores also sell food."

"...because we care about you!”

So gay.
Almost as bad as these endless e-mails from businesses who have me on their mailing list assuring me that they are still in business and they CARE ABOUT ME!

Re: A surprise move in Detroit TV

According to freep.com, WDIV is going to discontinue its affiliation with NBC after 73, years, and go independent for the very first time. As a result, Local 4 News will air an hour early at 10 pm each day. In addition, Local 4 News Today will be extended to 10 am daily. There’s also talks of an 8 ...

Re: Tigers radio replays starting Monday night

Move the games back to WJR and play games called by Ernie and Paul and I'd listen about every night. WJR could pull decent ratings again like they did 30 years ago. This might be a good time for me to finally listen to those tapes I made of their last weekend together in Baltimore 30 years ago. :)

I get the idea that the gov likes to be on TV, looking to move up the Democratic ladder?
Oh yes. Let her complain about the spat with Trump, but deep in her heart she knows it was a real blessing—brought her much national attention and sympathy, and maybe a spot on the presidential ticket.

Re: Coronavirus Playlist

Back in the 60s, kids used to sing this parody of the theme song from the Branded TV show:

Stranded—stranded on a toilet bowl,
What do you do when you're stranded,
And you can't find a roll?

Re: Ann Marie LaFlamme out at Ch 7

I see she's been doing traffic lately, and doing pretty well. I think she's better at that role than Ann Marie was. I think Ali Hoxie is doing a fine job. She does need to loosen up a little bit though. She knows the difference between "alternative" and "alternate," unlike most traffic reporters.

Re: Essential Radio and TV Stations

It says "some workers"—should we expect sports talk shows and music stations to stay on the air? What? and go without the "The Wake Up Breakfast Morning Zoo-o-rama with Fartie Bob, Chi-Chi and Shaky Sally"? My God man, hasn't this country been put through enough heartbreak already? It would be quit...

Interesting part of today's stay-at-home order: "For purposes of this order, critical infrastructure workers are those workers described by the Director of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in his guidance of March 19, 2020 on the COVID-19 response (available here). Such work...
