Re: Ho
Oh for Christ's sake! That's THREE stations I pick up that are all Christmas! WFMK doesn't seem to have made the leap, but in fairness, I don't know if they've done it prior; I only started tuning them in earlier this year. 98.7, 100.3 and now 105.7. Who's next... WFMK has done it the past few ...

Re: 102.7 K-Love is now broadcasting from Oak Park
I was in Richmond (northeastern Macomb County) a few days ago and suspected WDKL was already broadcasting from the new tower site, since the signal did not seem nearly as strong as before while it seemed a lot stronger than before in Oakland County. The signal here in Whitmore Lake seems about the ...

Re: Foxy 101 WFXZ Pinconning Music Survey 1985
tvbobn, what does "D" stand for on #28 and #30 previous week position column? Was this a published or in house survey? Most likely "Debut," signifying the song was a new entry that week. Did this station report to any trade publications (Billboard, R&R, Gavin Report etc.)?

Re: B100 in South Bend fucks up BIG TIME
Sounds like a perfectly Republican thing to do. Why would country listeners be upset? What does politics have to do with this? Go troll over in the Political forum. Yet, family values were mentioned as a reason he should have been allowed to spend the weekend away from work. To be realistic, radio ...

Re: B100 in South Bend fucks up BIG TIME
Couldn't agree more. I read he offered to show up at the event late and they just told him to forget it, that he was fired. Lots of pissed-off listeners on that FB page, and I'm not surprised. Country music listeners have long placed much emphasis on the importance of family. Hopefully if a country ...

Re: Another horrendous book for Q105
Thank goodness the radio station changed its name from Channel 105.5 to Q105.5 / Q105 a couple years ago! That clearly has helped the ratings! :lol So has not being able to decide whether they want to be known as Q105.5 or Q105. Putting lipstick on a pig doesn't change the fact that the pig is a ...

End-of-summer Tropos
Received from near Dewitt, late evening of 9/18-early morning of 9/19 (stations I typically receive are excluded unless they were unusually strong). 88.3 WEJC White Star 88.5 WYSA Wauseon OH (fighting with local WJOM) 88.7 WIAA Interlochen fighting with 89X 89.1 WEMU Ypsilanti (fighting with usual ...

Re: Listeners are abandoning local radio in droves in the Lansing market
The 1990s were a great period for country, with stars like Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, Sammy Kershaw, Joe Diffie, Garth Brooks, etc. Today's country sounds awful in comparison. Current country is just pop music with a fiddle or a steel guitar added, then it is branded as country. Unlike when it ...

Re: Ric Ocasek RIP
I preferred Benjamin Orr (sang lead on "Drive") myself, both as a songwriter and as a vocalist. They both had solo hits in 1986-87 and Ocasek's "Emotion in Motion" was pleasant enough, but Orr's "Stay the Night" is an underrated classic. But yeah, 2019 is turning out to be another hell of a year for ...

Re: 930/102.7 in Battle Creek flips to Classic Hits
Wouldn't surprise me if the format change was because they couldn't sell the Urban AC format. Some may remember when B95 as a CHR went under almost 30 years ago because the urban/rap product they played made it impossible to sell the station despite top ratings. Urban AC stations today play much of ...

"Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee" "How Great Thou Art" "All Creatures of Our God and King" "Holy God, We Praise Thy Name" "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty" "Hail, Holy Queen Enthroned Above" (my church choir has even performed the "Sister Act" arrangement - granted, not during Mass)

I'd be curious as to whether the WCSG numbers are for 91.3 or for 88.3 WCXK. Perhaps a combo of both?

Re: Robert Liggett passes...
Didn't he also run 96.1 WHNN and the short-lived "Class FM" WCLS in Detroit? He had quite the Adult Contemporary fiefdom in Michigan in the mid-'80s. Bob bought WABX in 1983 to make an entry into the Detroit market. He initially brought in the late Paul Christy to program a CHR format, replacing ...

I was in Holland at the peak of the opening. Received a number of Kansas stations plus Mix 107.5 from Clovis, New Mexico. 92.7 The Van was completely ripped up by some station playing "Happier" by Marshmello/Bastille (wasn't able to ID it).
