Re: Blarney Stone Petitions FCC to cancel WLDR license

From the legal doctrine of unclean hands this might backfire on the Coynes. ... As much as it pains me to say this, Henderson will likely own the Coynes after this development. Not well thought out. Circling back to the initial topic in this thread, Henderson's legal team asked for and were granted...

Re: Blarney Stone Petitions FCC to cancel WLDR license

Throw in that both WPBN and WGTU have the same xx.3. WPBN should move back to the Harrietta site with that translator (that is already located at Harrietta) moved to Ludington, Manistee, or Big Rapids ... Can someone also please explain why WPBN and WGTU both use the same tower just east of Kalkask...

Re: WSYM Hiring It's Own News Staff

Fox 17 in Grand Rapids, Fox 66 in Flint, Fox Local 32 in Cadillac are all bad. Is Scripps running WXMI into the ground? From my perspective as a viewer not in the business, WXMI's newscasts are fine. They're my second choice of what I watch from the TV newsrooms in Kent County. I'll leave you guess...

Re: Blarney Stone Petitions FCC to cancel WLDR license

In a related wrinkle... Mr. Henderson filed with the FCC yesterday 11/24 a modification for his never-yet-aired LPTV (low power TV) station W07DQ-D which notes the WLDR tower as being the intended broadcast transmission site (ASRN 1004108), still utilizing RF7. Re: TV RF Channel Changes

Another "maximization" modification in the market has been approved. Yesterday the FCC granted the Construction Permit to WWTV to up their RF9 power to the requested 51.8Kw level from Mt. Dighton. Note: No License to Cover yet for the previously granted increase by WGTU. To use makitaman's previous ...

Re: WLDR Renewal Applications

WLDR has one of the best signals in TC and certainly competed in the past. It will be interesting to see if the legal battle continues between the LMA company and the current owner. Today a FCC filing for WLDR on behalf of N CONTENT MARKETING, LLC was made of an Engineering STA to broadcast from a ...

BIG 101.3 FM — Fun Hits You Know

Hi All, While listening to 101.3 streaming the Spartans season opener as I tackled leaves in the yard, almost every station ID teased something BIG is happening. A few others noted all would be revealed after today’s football coverage. The iHeartRadio app in iOS shows the new logo with the tag line ...

Re: WPON WCXI Updates - 2020

For better or for worse, the FCC granted the license renewals for both WPON and WCXI on 9/15. Full term too--expiring on 10/1/2028.

Re: WLDR Renewal Applications

For better or for worse, the FCC did grant the WLDR renewal yesterday (9/16). As one would expect, it's for the full term until 10/1/2028.

Re: Any News On New WLLA OTA Signals?

Good news! They're getting closer.... WLLA has been posting on their Facebook page photos and messages about their permanent antenna installation being underway, having started on Sunday (Sept. 13). They note that there will be occasional outages and reduced power from the interim/auxiliary equipmen...

Kent County towers ... Re: Are Section 73.239 and Section 73.635 Being Enforced?

Hi MWMetalhead, Kent County has been getting other new, noticeable towers over the last couple of years—compliments of Kent County taxes & 911 phone fees. November’s addition went up quickly in Alto. Take a look south off I-96 as you pass the M-50 exit (SW quadrant) and you’ll see the 400+ footer, o...

NOPE ! Re: Are Section 73.239 and Section 73.635 Being Enforced?

Hi CK-722 and All, I saw this FCC announcement about both Sections 73.239 and 73.635 being eliminated as of this week Tuesday (8/4/2020), recalled this thread, and realized the final answer is now: NOPE! “...removing outdated and unnecessary requirements.” https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/FCC...

WTOM Cheboygan Re: antenna lift

Perhaps someone will know of newer information, but.... The most recent FCC filings for WTOM-TV Cheboygan notes in at least 3 places, “Helicopter pick scheduled for 8/9/20.” I’m recalling perceiving or reading in other filings or places that the old analog RF4 antenna will come down, with the new Di...

WEMP! Re: DX in reverse?

Hi ADD in TC, I can’t speak to how streams make it into the TuneIn app, as I’ve always declined to pursue installing it whenever a station’s link launches into the Apple App Store on me. There’s probably insight available from Wikipedia or some other Googled-up site. Your hypothesis about it being s...
