Re: AAA - can it still work in Detroit?

It surprises me that a Triple A Format Like WXRT or even Ann Arbor’s 107 One gets so much negative post on here considering there are some many liberals on this site one would think this format would win hands down. Those damn liberals, why can't they just listen to the same thing as everyone else?...

Re: AAA - can it still work in Detroit?

I rather enjoy a lot of that crap, so I am glad it isn't going anywhere.

Re: AAA - can it still work in Detroit?

WDET is a waste of a great frequency and should be sold to a commercial broadcaster, the potential to make big money not just on the sale of that station but also the fact of a great signal. What a waste in its current state. For what? Another Adult or Urban Contemporary station pretty much playing...

Re: AAA - can it still work in Detroit?

All I know is Detroit could use a little more variety formats, too many stations with too similar playlist. One person skip, is someone else's stop and listen.

Re: AAA - can it still work in Detroit?

I would love to hear a AAA radio station on the air in Detroit. Just having a slightly different option to listen too would be nice. But I wouldn't get my hopes too high, because it would still be a tightly controlled corporate playlist. Where at first it sounds new and refreshing, but just ends up ...

Re: CICO-32 in Windsor

I actually miss being able to get TVO, on occasion I have found interesting programs on in the evening. I hope that once the repack is done in March I am able to get it back again.

Also agree it would be interesting to see see Canada embrace sub channels in the future.

Re: And it approaches....

I saw the warning on CW 50 news ticker scrawl last night, and I thought glad I don't have cable. But this stuff happens outside of cable and locals. I lost El Rey from Sling due to dispute with Sling and Univision. Also we lost Decades when CBS up and decided to create StartTV, same thing with GetTV...

Re: Big changes in just released June ratings survey; WJR hits all-time record low

The only time I tune to AM is when I am driving around on the weekend and want to listen to a game I would rather be watching than have to be driving. I never even tune in to AM and scan around to see what is there. WLLZ has become just another preset on my radio, no better than 89X, WCSX, or WRIF. ...

Re: WMYD To Host Detroit’s First ATSC 3.0 Signal

Sorry you're right, my wording was bad. Won't be the same signal, but will still be board cast for at least 5 years. "ATSC 1.0 signals will still be subject to mandatory carriage rules for television providers during the five-year simulcasting mandate; the FCC stated that voluntary carriage of 3.0 s...

Re: WMYD To Host Detroit’s First ATSC 3.0 Signal

It will carry both 3.0 and 1.0, just like currently you get all the sub channels on the same signal. The older tuners will just not be able to process the 3.0 signal and ignore it. From more reading, the tuners will require new chipsets to work, so the chances of a software or firmware upgrade are v...

Re: WMYD To Host Detroit’s First ATSC 3.0 Signal

From what I have read, the 3.0 signal will be broadcast on the same frequency as the 1.0. The channels will be keeping the 1.0 signal with all the sub channels broadcasting for at least 5 years as 3.0 capable tuners are made available. So each channel will have the line up broadcasting in 3.0 and 1....

Re: WLPC Moved to 28

Not sure what happened, when they went to 28 I was in Chicago for work. When I got back I tried to scan 28 and I was receiving no signal, but when I checked 40, I could see the signal, but as usual it was very weak and hard to lock. Maybe they had issue with the new antenna and asked to be moved bac...
