Re: Most Dangerous Roundabouts In Michigan

IMHO roundabouts should only be used at irregular intersections, not at the standard "T", not at a normal crossroad, not in high volume traffic, and certainly not at freeway ramps (as I mentioned in another thread). An example of an irregular intersection would be a 5-point one, where you have a sta...

Re: Most Dangerous Roads In Michigan

The roundabouts at the Green Oak Village Place exit off US-23. Oh don't let me get started with roundabouts...too late!!! First of all I totally agree with you about the above-mentioned roundabouts. I have ended up going where I didn't want to go a couple of times on those! Roundabouts should not b...

Re: Most Dangerous Roads In Michigan

NB US-23 around the Washtenaw/Livingston County line where the temporary left lane ends sees its fair share of accidents. The last one I saw was a few weeks ago and all three lanes were stopped. A state police unit was trying to get to the crash scene with siren/lights going and was not going anywhe...

You should be able to get KTRH 740 out of Houston, TX. I used to pull them in when visiting my wife's parents in Fort Myers Beach.

Re: Your best ever car radio?

It was the only time I ever experienced AM stereo. Why did the broadcasting industry abandon that mode? A few reasons I've heard: 1. AM stereo was replaced with IBOC 2. Format changed to talk, no need for stereo 3. Coverage is lessened 4. Equipment failed and don't want to fix/replace Turkeytop, I'...

Thanks HD74. I was considering buying a tower back when I posted this topic. I live in Stonegate Farms and from amplified rabbit ears I can get 6, 10, 23, 47, and 53. Without the amplification, 23 is gone.

Re: WPON testing again ?

I was by the Maple Road xmitter site yesterday a little before 6pm. WPON was off the air. WCXI is definitely broadcasting from this location. At 5:57 the station went off the air for a few seconds, I'm guessing switch over to night time. At 6:07 was the legal ID barely heard under the beginning of a...

Re: What is your favorite subchannel network?

Aspire is distributed by Comcast and is only on cable, AFAIK. It was started up and owned by Earvin "Magic" Johnson. It's great that they run "In Living Color," a groundbreaking and (mostly) very funny show. When I see on the cable guide that it's on, I pretty much have to watch it. It's also avail...

Re: What is your favorite subchannel network?

Aspire ( https://aspire.tv/ ) is one I like to watch, but I have only seen it on cable/directv/etc., so I'm not sure if they do broadcast TV. Their programming is aimed for a black audience and being white I enjoy it also (it's currently my favorite channel). Aspire airs older programs such as (The)...

Re: License revocations

I'm not sure if all of the McCluskey stations made it to the air. Interesting W209BR 89.7 Columbia Township is not mentioned. If I recall correctly, it was a translator for WAQQ. WJKQ's transmitter was located in a barn behind an old farmhouse, not quite where it was supposed to be at. WJCQ, I can't...

Re: CKWW

This phenomenon is frequently found on FM receivers where you have two tuned to the same station. The oscillator from one radio mixes with a strong nearby signal and you can hear it all over the dial. But it requires both signals to be quite strong. I've read about this where a neighbor in an apart...

It Is Well With My Soul performed by Crystal Lewis. She really puts herself into this hymn.
