Re: Justin Trudeau Caught Up In Blackface Scandal-3 Instances So Far

If Trudeau was a Republican in the US, he would have already resigned. It would be headlines in the NYT for days. I remember some kids doing this at Halloween in the 1960s. Better parents put the kibosh on it before the kids went out. Doubtful. Most Republicans refuse to take responsibility for the...

Re: Lewandowski appearance

Did anyone else have flashbacks to G. Gordon Liddy? Lewandowski sure reminded me of him in both looks and demeanor. Ha... I hadn't considered that but it's not an altogether bad take. But in the later half he got grilled a by staff attorney who put the dude’s balls in a vice and squeezed until Lewa...

Lewandowski appearance

Watching it now. Pretty interesting. While it has yet to play out, Lewandowski strikes me as someone who isn't as smart as he believes he is and might just get tripped up. I still don't understand how he is able to not answer questions based on a White House opinion that he can't answer, yet not cla...

Re: The Loss Of A Living Legend; Cokie Roberts

In my humblest of opinions, Robert's best work was done when she was with NPR. After she moved over to ABC, not so much. None the less, she had a good run.

Re: Ric Ocasek (The Cars) dies at 75

Stephen Colbert had a nice mention of Ocasek on his show last night. When he was doing the "Colbert Report" Ocasek did some "guerilla field work" (in Colbert's words) for the program. Colbert seemed pretty saddened by the news of his passing.

Re: Trump doesn't understand monetary policy - and it's frightening

Where the problem and false equivalency come into play is that Trump as a businessman has expertise and has found great success in only one singular industry. Real Estate. Period. What strategy and tactics achieve results in one area of finance and commerce may have no bearing whatsoever in a differ...

Re: Beantown Stunner- Dave Dombrowski fired!!!

:eek :eek :eek I wonder who'll be the next "almost there" team to hire him. You kind of hit it on the head there. Dombrowski has some skills putting finishing touches on a team that's "almost there". Problem is it's at the expense of decimating whatever work went into building a farm system for imm...

Re: NOAA Rebukes AL Weather Station, Says Trump Was Right!

The fact of the matter is President Trump dispensed very inaccurate information based on an extremely outdated forecast for no good reason. That's why this matters. First responders, hospital administrators, school officials, nursing home staff and a lot of other people in positions of responsibili...

Re: Hurricane fools

Just another reminder that people who scream into a microphone while being pelted by rain and wind from a hurricane are not heroes. They are the dictionary definition of a fool. Here's a story that seems to show all broadcasters aren't dopes, weasels or fools: https://www.newsobserver.com/news/weat...

Re: Mass US Shootings Finally Addressed ?

I see Mitch McConnell just threw Trump under the bus by saying he won't initiate any gun control legislation unless he's assured Trump will sign it. <snip> Mitch McConnell is a moron. He should be doing what he was put there to do. Have the debate and put forth legislation that the Senate thinks is...

Re: Mass US Shootings Finally Addressed ?

Perhaps it would be helpful if the NRA and its supporters pass out scorecards What exactly are you suggesting here? That people who support the NRA view these mass shootings as some kind of game whereby the more people who are shot and killed, the higher the score for the NRA? You're right. "Roster...

Re: Mass US Shootings Finally Addressed ?

I see Mitch McConnell just threw Trump under the bus by saying he won't initiate any gun control legislation unless he's assured Trump will sign it. Of course, in order for any law to be enacted the President must sign off on it (barring an override), but Mitch just lobbed a very volatile ball squar...
