Re: A CBS News anchor shake-up could be in the works

Noticed John Dickerson has been anchoring this week. Maybe Glor is burning up his vacation time, but I suspect CBS simply doesn't want a deadman walking doing the flagship news broadcast. I think this won't work out well for CBS because it seldom works out well bringing in your Morning Show pony to ...

Re: Beilein Bolts To NBA

Can't blame the guy. Pragmatically it will be the last coaching gig in his career. While Michigan was paying him well, if you're 66 years old and have an opportunity to sign a five year contract for major league cash to close out your career you do it.

Good luck coach!

Re: Pagers

First thing I thought of was doctors and drug dealers but a quick Google search revels street pharmacists gave up on them in the late 80's. I did see one quoted as saying he quit using them after watching the first season of "The Wire".

DATELINE: US House of Representatives, May 2, 2019 Occasionally in life there will be an image that lives up to the hyperbole of "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words" . Re: Attorney General, JaBarr The Hut

Apparently Graham has just come out with a statement that he, as chairman, will not request Mueller or McGahn to appear for the committee.

Time for Bobby Three-Sticks to crash the party.

I believe Brembo has a by wire system available.

Re: Attorney General, JaBarr The Hut

I'm watching Barr being questioned up on the hill and it's pretty clear they need to get Mueller in there to clear things up because this will never get resolved otherwise. Period.

Re: 737 Max Jets. Take a seat?

Fly by wire...bad idea. How so? By wire systems have been in place for years. Properly designed and with sufficient safety backup they save a ton of weight and make for a less complex control system. If you're driving a reasonably new car to the airport, the by wire systems in it are probably less ...

Re: 737 Max Jets. Take a seat?

Excellent insight; thanks Lester. I'm with you guys - sounds like (another) disaster waiting to happen. I wonder how much Southwest Airlines spent on these shitty aircraft? Weren't they the largest purchaser of the 737 Max domestically? Their initial order was for about 250, not sure how many have ...

Re: 737 Max Jets. Take a seat?

I've got a BIL that builds the engines for the MAX and I've been told that frankly there are some fundamental issues with that aircraft that software alone won't completely fix. Hanging bigger engines on the old 737 frame to speed roll out, increase sales, and compete with Airbus is Boeing’s short-s...

Re: Annual Correspondent’s Dinner

I enjoyed hearing from the historian rather than a comedian. Far better way to encourage freedom of the press - giving historical context re the proper adversarial relationship between the press and each US president. I also enjoyed Trump’s symptomatic NPD-lead decision to once again not attend the...

Re: Socialism fails in Ann Arbor

A new article published today on MLive said undisclosed "family issues" are responsible for the closing of the four stores. One of the owners is quoted as saying personal family issues outside of the business became too overwhelming to allow for adequate devotion of time to run the stores properly....

Re: Nikki Haley in? Mike Pence out?

If Pence avoids doing anything else for the next twelve months other than keeping his thumb his ass and his mouth shut (Think the White House Pelosi/Schumer meeting) he'll stay on the ticket. His biggest problem right now is Pete Buttigieg. Buttigieg is in a great position, as a Hoosier that was aro...
