Re: TV internet precursor

You're probably thinking of Teletext. It was widely available in Europe, but never really caught on in North America. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teletext

Re: Art Van is out of money and is liquidating and closing all stores

The fate of the franchised stores will be up to each individual franchisee. They may or may not be able to still use the "Art Van" name. The corporate support structure is completely gone. They are 100% on their own now. In NW Ohio, at least two of the franchisees are reverting to their pre-Art Van...

Well, looks like they're cramming in more diginets. WeatherNation is moving to 13.6, and something new is coming to 13.3.

Re: WTOL may be removing MeTV

Wonder if WLMB channel 40 would be interested in picking up MeTV. Seems like a good fit for them, since they air similar shows to MeTV, when they're not airing religious programming. They only have one subchannel, "Radiant TV" last I checked, so perhaps MeTV could be on 40-3. No way would they even...

New FOX 8 set, and graphics package, to debut 8-26 https://youtu.be/ohTlBvd0le0 Looks like the same graphics as Tribune's other Fox stations. See also: WPMT/York, WXMI/Grand Rapids, WXIN/Indianapolis, KSWB/San Diego. Honestly, I'm not even sure why Tribune's going to all this effort when it's going...

BAS still owns WTTF last I heard, unless that changed recently. BAS owns WFRO WLEC, and 92.1 WOHF(I think).
It was supposed to be donated to Heidelberg University, but that never went through. Current owner (since 2014) is Anthony Paradiso.

Yet Another Country Station in NW Ohio!

Not getting your fill from the other country stations in the market? Nobco's got you covered! Their Wauseon translator at 94.3 is now being fed the signal from 96.1's HD2 stream. And.....IT'S COUNTRY MUSIC! 94.3 The Buck (clever ******* name, by the way) will be cramming all that mainstream country ...

Re: Rescan TV Channel Moves in Toledo

Also, I believe that WBGU agreed to move their RF, possibly back to their real RF27 ?? They've been on RF 27 since shutting down their analog transmitter in December 2008; they will move down to RF 22. Does WUPW 36 have to move too- I think that they are forced by virtue of 2/3 of the band gone, so...
