Re: CKCO-3 Channel 42 Off the Air?

Should CKCO-3 flip to UHF 30 for its digital signal with virtual channel 42.1? From an ethical perspective, CKCO-3 should convert to DTV, but they won't. They're owned by Bell Media, the owner of Canada's cable and satellite TV providers. With OTA television out of the way (except in areas with US ...

Re: The Ax Falls: 2019 Network TV Cancellations

That’s probably half the network shows which is proving something here that over-the- air networks are dying ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and The CW, So the question is where will these 5 networks be in 10 years, My bet is that they will be gone from broadcast television and these are the guys that want ATSC...

Re: Old cable lineups

Yet another vintage United Cable Television Downriver lineup: I found four of this in a VCR box I bought at a yard sale in Wyandotte. United Cable Television Gibraltar/Lincoln Park/Riverview/Trenton/Woodhaven, circa 1989-1990 2 - WJBK (CBS 2 Detroit) 3 - ESPN 4 - WDIV (NBC 4 Detroit) 5 - The Nashvil...

Re: CKCO-3 Channel 42 Off the Air?

I think bell and shaw dream of turning CTV and Global into general-entertainment cable channels (and will eventuallhy pressure the CRTC to allow for such a category), so they can shutter their transmitters and go cable-only. Reminds me of exactly what CBS and Fox threatened to do if they lost the A...

The Ax Falls: 2019 Network TV Cancellations

It's mid-May, so it's time to find out which network shows have been cancelled. Here they are: ABC: The Fix For the People The Kids are Alright Speechless Splitting Up Together Take Two CBS: The Big Bang Theory Code Black Elementary (final season starts May 23) Murphy Brown (again) Salvation Fox: Th...

Re: Newest Jeopardy! Uberchampion

I’ve read a completely unsubstantiated internet rumor that claims he will lose after amassing 32 victories and $2.4M, coming up just shy of Ken Jennings $2.5M. (Although way ahead of Ken in average dollar value per victory, and way behind Ken in total victories of 72.) I probably don't think that'l...

Re: CHWI-DT-26 about to move

With CHWI-DT-26 now on RF17, I decided to check the RF17 frequency this morning to see what popped up. As usual for this frequency from my location during tropo events, WKYC showed up.

What a surprise.

Re: CHWI-DT-26 about to move

I easily get both 9 and 32 in Wyandotte, almost regardless of where my antenna is pointed. On occasion, if my antenna is pointed north or east, I've been able to pick up 22 and CHWI on RF16. I used to be able to pick up analog 42, but it hasn't been showing up as of late.

So, when all this is said and done, will they convert to ATSC 3.0?

Breaking: Meredith to possibly exit the TV business

The fast-paced changing TV industry continues to roil on...this time, Meredith wants out.

This will include WNEM in the Flint/Saginaw market.

Re: Sinclair Seen As Top Bidder At Fox Regional Sports Network Auction

Knowing Sinclair...they'll probably do away with sports entirely and turn the networks into a regional network of far-right propaganda spinners. Or at least that's what I heard on a TV news-related Discord server.

I thought WMYD was going to add it not WXYZ.
That's what I also thought.

Anyways WXYZ-DT4 has been added as of this morning. Does not produce a signal yet though.

UPDATE: And WXYZ-DT4 disappeared entirely around 12:30 PM.

Re: Court TV is coming to WXYZ 7.4 in May

Interesting, my set hasn't yet recognized WXYZ-DT4, but somehow it added WEWS-DT4, which will be the Court TV station for the Cleveland market. Last I checked that, it was just a black screen.

Re: Bell wants to shut down more CTV transmitters

I remember reading Windsor had one of the highest OTA viewship numbers in the country, probably because of Detroit and Toledo. If memory serves, Windsor carries all of the Detroit stations except WADL and WPXD. Not sure if they carry the Toledo stations. Toledo stations are not carried in Windsor t...

Re: TV Guide

It doesn't make any mention of OTA. Fortunately, I have tvtv.us on my smartphones. tvtv.us recently added Canada and the UK to its service. If you want to be shocked, do a "Broadcast" listing for a small town in the UK, then a small town in USA, then a small town in Canada! This is highly surprisin...
