Re: Shits 96.5 is no more in Kalamazoo
I actually liked the Hits 96.5 format. It was mostly current pop but they also mixed in hits from as far back as the 90s to give this millennial some nostalgia. It didn't hurt that they also played fewer commercials than other stations. I guess it's back to KFR for me.

Re: WLNS-TV's Sheri Jones saying goodbye after decades-long broadcast career
With her departure, I believe that puts the average age of the WLNS on-air team at 19.6. HAHA! It's funny because it's true. It's still probably older than the mess on Fox 47. On the other hand, WILX's entire evening crew is the old guard, all of whom worked at 6 before jumping over to WILX ...

WILX Dropping 2 Newscasts
Looks like after adding several newscasts over the couple years, WILX is scaling back. They're eliminating their 11AM newscast and their "First at 4" PM newscast. Info: https://www.wilx.com/2024/11/08/important-programming-update-news-10-viewers/ Anchor Taylor Gattoni posted this update on Facebook ...

WLAJ Playing Atlanta News?
I was watching 20/20 on WLAJ (using Xfinity) and when the 11:00PM newscast started, I noticed it wasn't the WLNS simulcast. It was WSB news from Atlanta. Huh? I'm so confused.
Breaking Update: As I type this at 11:10, it flipped to WLNS news. HAHA! What is going on?

Another One Leaving WWMT
Well, WWMT recently added a third news reporter (Carter Landis) so it was only a matter of time before one of the old ones left. Today Allie Jennerjahn posted that she'll be done at channel 3 on March 17 and is heading to Denver. She's also been the weekend morning anchor for a while so I guess ...

Re: WWMT Anchor left the building
Is Ms. JennerJohn WWMT's only dedicated field-assigned reporter at this point? Or does she also do some anchoring? Autumn Pitchure is also there as a reporter. But I've seen both of them anchor on the weekends... unless they can't... in which case they pull one of the lead weekday anchors into the ...

Re: WWMT Anchor left the building
Andy Pepper does a sports segment once or twice a week and it's rarely local. I'm pretty sure I've said this before on here, but I laugh every time I see the "You're watching Newschannel 3 with...." bumper and they get to Andy Pepper. They give him credit in the bumper every day, but if he's on ...

Re: CW7 changing on 1-1-24?
WWMT is running ads for ARC (though they never mention that it's on 3.2). Apparently ARC stands for "Authentic, Relevant, Community."
Yeah, okay....

Re: another WWMT-TV reporter/anchor leaving
That takes their total number of news reporters down to... 2.
Five hours of news each weekday with only 2 local reporters. Yikes. (And those reporters are weekend anchors so they're not working every day M-F.)

Re: Audrey Dahlgren out?
"We've got the biggest broadcast sports team in the market and the state" - By my count, losing Audrey they currently have a three person sports team, including some new kid they added during the last week. WILX currently has three, and I believe is hiring a fourth. At most, they are the same size ...

Re: WWMT's Lack of On-Air Talent
Does anyone know what Andy Pepper actually does? He shows up maybe twice a week to do sports, otherwise sports is just read by an anchor person. I feel like I'm lucky to see Andy Pepper once a week. I always laugh when they play the news intro/bumper that lists the talent because it says "Andy ...

WWMT's Lack of On-Air Talent
I remember a year or two ago when WWMT seemed to have a reporter or anchor exit the station about once a month. Apparently, those folks were never replaced. Aside from the lead anchors and meteorologists, WWMT's on-air talent is almost nonexistent. According to their website, they have a grand total ...

Re: Hits 96.5 trying to stay alive
Music in the morning was the advantage for this station! I was rooting Hits as we haven’t had an alternative to KFR with good market coverage for 20 years. I would love to see a shift to a 90s to Now format. Agree 100%!! I much preferred knowing I'd hear music on my drive into work rather than the n ...

Deja Vu! WILX Adding "First at 4" Newscast... Again
Looks like WILX is giving the "First @ 4" newscast another go around. It starts next Monday, replacing Funny You Should Ask. They had a 4PM newscast a number of years ago, but it was dropped when they added news to the 5:30 half-hour. Now they'll have news 4:30-7:00 AM, 11:00-11:30 AM, 4:00-4:30 PM ...

Re: Stephanie McCoy Gone from WILX
Duke FM's Facebook page seems to be teasing that Stephanie will be doing mornings there starting tomorrow (Monday the 27th). Came here to say this. Here's the post from Duke's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/941dukefm/posts ...
