Lovin: you’re wrong. Go take an employment law class.

If you’d like to buy out my contract to stop hearing my observations/grievances of SBG/25-66, send a check payable to “Cash” for $438,712.90 to PO Box 2566, Flint MI.
At that price, why not buy one of the stations outright?

On a side note, quite a few that will be flipping are sports stations -- I wonder if the lack of sports action during the coronavirus crisis is part of the reason for the switch?

Here's a recent Facebook headline from Bill Harris' part-time lover:

"Amazing.. A stranger did something with their stimulus check that may put tears in your eyes."
Two words: "click bait".

I'm not sure who made this decision but I applaud it. The weekend movies are satellite-delivered from syndication services, so you will never know who programs the feeds. Nobody local, for sure, It's either those, or infomercials. And I rather watch an old movie than watching the same old colon blo...

Love those rare "skip" days. I remember getting WINK 96.5 fm, which is in Ft. Myers Florida, from Sylvania Ohio.
Isn't WINK-FM on 96.9? Used to listen to them everyday from the Tampa Bay area until new local stations and LPFMs crowded them out.

Very few viewers are going to waste their time with an out of market national newscast on a CW affiliate.
Could have been worse -- it could have been an in-market CW newscast produced out-of-market (WKBD).

Re: CBSDetroit62

WTOP-TV changed their call letters at that time for the same reason as WWJ-TV. They became WDVM-TV (District, Virginia, Maryland, as the story is told) which they kept until July 4, 1986, when they changed to the then-recently-available WUSA-TV. They've kept those call letters since then. That was ...

...when Time-Life Broadcasting purchased WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, which became WOTV since WOOD-AM and WOOD-FM retained those call letters. Time-Life bought WOOD TV and radio in 1957 -- it would not be until 1972 when Time-Life sold off WOOD's radio operations, forcing the TV side to become WOTV. (H...

Re: One big mistake or a series of mistakes? What was it?

WKNX-TV 57 survived by moving to 25, going big, and providing wide area service for CBS (before that time, WJIM-TV 6 placed Grade B service for CBS, but nowhere near City Grade Service, over Genesee County). ...but at least strong enough for WJIM to actually include Flint in its station IDs and TV ...

Re: One big mistake or a series of mistakes? What was it?

WKNX-TV was a UHF orphan. Nobody knew Channel 57 even existed - because TV sets didn't have UHF tuners. They only became significant in the late 1960's, when new sets had UHF tuners, they moved to channel 25 and a new taller tower (increasing range), and greatly increased their power. Amazed that t...

Re: One big mistake or a series of mistakes? What was it?

Sinclair Broadcast Group needs to be broken up by the FCC. 25-66 forced its stations to run politically slanted news stories. It forces its anchors to read corporate mandated promos. The fact they are owned by Sinclair, where they have a high right-wing corporate bias and mandate its stations to ru...

Most news outlets save their article for posterity and historical reasons. The best they could do is include an update.

Re: WOTV - Virtual Channel 4?

I do... i always found that a bit odd that Akron and Canton never broke off to become their own market, or join the Youngstown/Warren market.... they're pretty sizable communities on their own. I believe a few UHFs in the region had licenses, but never signed on, and as many people watched network ...
