Re: CICO-32 in Windsor
The CRTC is strict, I don't think that CBET (or any Canadian station for that matter) can target more than 20% of its advertising to non-Canadian areas. And all Canadian stations and cable channels (yes, they control cable TV over there!) have to air Canadian programming on 60% of their schedule, s...

Re: WTOL may be removing MeTV
Cable 13 in Palm Springs is NBC affiliate KMIR, which uses its analog channel, 36.x, as its PSIP, and actually broadcasts on channel 26:

Re: WTOL may be removing MeTV
WNMT-CD makes CBET (CBC Windsor) and CHWI (CTV2 Windsor) look like superstations in comparison... just from picture quality alone! Considering WMNT's rap sheet, it makes even small-market network affiliates like superstations. The stations have the "branding channel" rights to any number, PSIP. PSI...

Re: Network programming preemptions by individual stations
According to TitanTV, this Saturday night October 19, WDIV will Join "JURASSIC WORLD" in progress at 9:00 PM after an infomercial and repeat episode of "Wheel of Fortune" at 8:00 and 8:30 PM. You'd think they'd remove WoF and the infomercial in favor of the movie. Strange. Did they mean to schedule...

Re: TCM
My friend in Sterling Heights, also with Comcast as am I, called me one afternoon complaining about the same thing, ironically as I was watching TCM. He called Comcast and apparently TCM is now bundled with a sports tier costing extra, which I have. This makes absolutely no sense, especially as the...

Re: WTOL may be removing MeTV
What amazed me about WMNT-CA in its analog days was their nightly airing of "Make Room for Daddy"/"Danny Thomas Show" -unedited, complete with cigarette commercials! In the 21st century! (American Tobacco Company was at least a sponsor if they didn't produce and deliver the program outright). This ...

Re: WTOL may be removing MeTV
Did anyone notice WMNT was sited for not logging children's programming? FCC says the need to cough up $13,000. Sounds like they made excuses for not filing mandatory paperwork. Also, public file on their website is not clickable. Actually, the WMNT part of their My Network TV framed website is mis...

Re: Comcast Removing Detroit and Lansing Channels
Must-carry even applies to low power stations. Which is probably why you see more of them popping up as network affiliates. ...which is the only way LPTVs can be must-carry. When we lived in the Tampa Bay area until last year, the market had several LPTVs, but only the Spanish-language channels (su...

Re: Detroit station creating a disturbance in Ontario?
Considering the source, Blackburn Radio, maybe it's a sneaky way to get its Canadian listeners to listen to Canadian radio, while posing American stations as those with inept engineering. He also declined to mention any specific source, other than an FM station in Detroit. And as mentioned above, au...

Detroit station creating a disturbance in Ontario?
A man in the southwestern Ontario town of Amherstburg noticed problems of electronics in automobiles in his town malfunctioning. He now suspects that a Detroit FM station may be behind it: https://blackburnnews.com/windsor/windsor-news/2019/10/10/fm-radio-station-behind-amherstburgs-dead-zone/?fbcli...

Re: Comcast Removing Detroit and Lansing Channels
Took them 23 years to finally realize that the Cable Reform Act of 1996 exists... I'm not 100% sure whether the act you're mentioning applies to PBS members and other noncommercial stations I don't believe it does -- it mainly applies to commercial stations -- network affiliates, in particular.

Re: Comcast Removing Detroit and Lansing Channels
Sanilac County is in the Detroit market, so I imagine they would be obligated to carry all major channels serving that market.
