Re: Jaws Country 100.9fm WJAW Don't listen alone!
:lol There's is a station in The Marietta Ohio/Parkersburg West Virginia area, Called Jaws Country 100.9fm . Last April the station flipped to this from ESPN radio. I have to say this a cool name for the station and The slogan is "Don't listen alone" The call letters, I believe have always been WJA...

Re: Happy birthday WSPD!
I’d love to dig up the early history of WTAL-WSPD and how the Storer family got into broadcasting in the first place. If only the Toledo Blade archives were easier to navigate on Google Newspapers...

Re: RIP 89X
It almost doesn't matter that "ALT" is destined for failure. It's effectively a national station for Entercom that uses the same airtalent in the same dayparts among all their stations in that format... maybe there will be a local afternoon drive host for 98.7. Maybe. Don't get your hopes up. Hell, ...

Re: RIP 89X
Both stations only mention Windsor in the imaging. They've punted Detroit. Bleh. Next. BellMedia had already abandoned Detroit at around the same time they got the iHeartRadio franchise in Canada, any references to Detroit on 88.7/93.9 were mostly artifacts from prior to that move. So they are oper...

WPAY 1520 dealt to Fusion Radio
EMF finally dealt away WPAY 1520/92.1/103.3 after a decade, trading it to Fusion Radio in exchange for a Madison WI translator. It was an even swap of assets with no money changing hands. Since K-Love Classics was shut down by EMF a few days ago, WPAY is running K-Love's Christmas feed as filler unt...

He’s a figurehead for Sinclair, which all but controls the stations and has all control over their intellectual property.lovinlife101 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 6:43 amNow, why are you so racist against a black owner? Rather than celebrate the diversity at the top position, you criticize him for being successful.

Re: Cumulus changes
Wouldn't it make sense to sell your towers to someone who knows what they're doing and not have another WLQR 1470 mess on your hands? Plus past transmission site sales for WMAL and KABC were done as the real estate around them were worth more than the stations themselves. I'll say this about WABC, i...

Re: Classic Hits 96.7 - WBVI is no longer "Mix 96.7"
WBVI isn't BAS (it's owned by Tri-County Broadcasters) but you can't blame anyone for the confusion, they shared the same Westwood One network programming as WCPZ and, for whatever reason, the same "Mix" logo design.

Re: Q105.5 in Toledo is stunting
The Bert Show famously bombed at WRQX/Washington DC, where it had replaced a long-running local morning show show helmed by Jack Diamond (Bert Weiss was previously a sidekick to Diamond before going on his own) as part of an ill-advised switch from hot AC to CHR under Cumulus. It was such a bomb tha...

Re: WLEC changes formats and bumpers, seems to have gone Classic Hits
Didn’t WCPZ 102.7 have a call letter change in the late 90’s as WMTX and then eventually went back to WCPZ. Yes, then-owner Jacor transferred them up from Tampa at what is now WBTP 95.7 in a brand extension of what was WMVX 106.5 Cleveland. When 104.9 Lorain adopted the KISS-FM brand as WAKS in Sep...

This whole saga took another turn. I can't say that I've seen a doctor's note and scans of someone's arteries on an STA before. But it happened when Roy had a major heart attack last week and requested an STA for his other station, KHTZ.
And remember, Roy is suing Blarney Stone. Lol.

Maybe WJR could buy it and simulcast like WBBM and WCFS? Maybe that would solve the problem of Purple People Meters not picking up their embedded code due to noise? This is also my dark horse/wild card pick. Or whomever actually buys the Cumulus Detroit cluster. Cumulus has made it known they want ...

As I'm typing this - the station is airing a Polka music show. Brokered time - obviously. Funny stuff!!! I'm not in the area to hear it myself, but am told Polka Party's Sharon Zablocki is not there too often anymore and RJ is doing the show most times. Shocked that's still on. When I'm back in T-T...

Re: Lynn Martin Show - Lynn's Final Hour!
CKLW only targets Windsor. Always has since taking the talk format from AM 580. They are the only commercial talk radio station in the market, it wouldn't matter if they were 50kW or 500 watts, they'll do "well enough" by default. Choosing Dan MacDonald shouldn't be a surprise. You really thought th...

Re: Lima's 940 WCIT Drops Sports
250 watts and 6 watts at night, not much you can do with it. Seems like nothing has lasted. Urban, Oldies, News/talk, Sports, etc... . With CInw gone, could 940 increase there power now? They likely won't. CINW leaving the air has nothing to with WCIT being able to upgrade. Under a treaty negotiate...
