Re: Geraldo on WTAM

Is he syndicated? I doubt it. It’s called Geraldo in Cleveland and the number given is WTAM’s. All of the callers are from the Cleveland area. Why only one hour though? Is that all he wants to do, or is the station forced to carry Glenn Beck? Geraldo does do a weekly podcast for iHeartRadio indepen...

Re: Big changes in just released June ratings survey; WJR hits all-time record low

Hey, I would love to hear Jim Bohannon in Detroit. He skews slightly to the right. But, he has a newsman's sense of fairness. On my way home at night, I have to listen to him on KDKA, which fades in and out. Strangely, I don't ever recall Bohannon being cleared in Detroit. I wonder why? I remember ...

Re: Big changes in just released June ratings survey; WJR hits all-time record low

Peak traffic on the afternoon drive in Detroit starts at 4PM. For a number of years, 760 carried the first two hours of Hannity's show live. He replaced Albom in the 3p to 5p slot (Albom originally aired from 3p to 6p). Years later, Hannity was replaced by Savage in the 3p to 5p slot when Lew Dicke...

Re: Geraldo on WTAM

Visiting Cleveland right now and heard Geraldo’s show on WTAM. It’s only an hour from 9-10AM. What’s the point? None of the topics are local to Cleveland. Does he do the show there or fed from New York? He and his family live in Shaker Heights, the show mostly originates from the iHeart Cleveland s...

Re: What's next for 93.9fm in Indianapolis?

I can't think of a single station that has had any success whatsoever running The Bert Show. It's an Atlanta show that's struck out practically everywhere else it's been piped in.

Re: 103.7 WCKY

Myron, its 93.3, W227BJ. They cannot be on 93.5, due to WRQN-FM's tower at Rt 25 and 582, in Haskins. They (WRQN) are 7,000 watts nondirectional. That goes into Tiffin, marginally. https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WRQN&service=FM I goofed up my BAS AMs. It's WLEC that has a translator at ...

Re: 103.7 WCKY

I took a listen to WCKY today, when they did traffic, they mentioned a couple of trouble spots in Lima but said nothing about Toledo. LOL. Aren’t they even more of a rimshot in Lima? :rollin BAS still owns WTTF last I heard, unless that changed recently. BAS owns WFRO WLEC, and 92.1 WOHF(I think). ...

Re: What’s happened to WJW-TV??

Considering the scuttlebutt that Fox wants to repurchase WJW once the merger with Nexstar goes through, you’ll be seeing an in-house graphics package. The likelihood they get anything from Nexstar is next to nil.

Re: Ron Cameron In One Word:

I just don't get how people pay him to advertise their business. First time I'd hear it stumbled on, cancelled. He sells his own advertising (or should be) so they’re likely close friends with Ron and don’t care. No doubt in my mind that WDTK also changes rock bottom rates for their brokered progra...

Re: Big changes in just released June ratings survey; WJR hits all-time record low

Chiming in here regarding WJR. Could they be loosing ground to Salem's WDTK? I do hear a lot of "Detroit" callers on the Hugh Hewitt show which they carry live 6 to 9am. Hannity moved to WDTK and perhaps a lot of loyal WJR listeners went with him? I'd be interested to see Salem's numbers for this m...

Re: Big changes in just released June ratings survey; WJR hits all-time record low

In 96.3's case, it's a mostly voicetracked station in the wrong format. They only track nights. They're also sounding more like a hot ac again. The Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, Alanis type '90's songs seem to be back. Reaction to losings some P2's to The Breeze maybe? Things could have changed there...

Re: Big changes in just released June ratings survey; WJR hits all-time record low

If I recall, the arbitron, now nielson methodology often left a lot to be desired and could generate such swings with stations highly targeted. Now I am old and out of the business now, but could there have been a diary dump or incentive given to get 6-34 year olds to return said diary or whatever ...

Re: Big changes in just released June ratings survey; WJR hits all-time record low

We are constantly told by the far right in this country that they are the silent majority and that here in Michigan, Trump is sure to win again. Well, if they are a majority, they sure aren't tuning into WJR and Pills Limbaugh or No Degree Hannity all that often. Talk radio is being killed by 1,000...

Re: Big changes in just released June ratings survey; WJR hits all-time record low

About a decade ago, I saw a report that give interesting statistics regarding every major station in the market. WJR's median listener age at the time was 62. I'm guessing their A25-54 performance is likely somewhere in the 1.5 to 1.9 share range. That sounds about right. The median age has to be w...

Re: Big changes in just released June ratings survey; WJR hits all-time record low

What's only shown are the 6+ beauty pageant demo. I wouldn't be surprised to see WJR's internal ratings be even worse. Their older-skewing audience caught up with them.

Talk radio nationwide is in a very bad position right now, and it's not going to get any better.
