I trust the Lions head office(never thought I would type those words) to make a good move in the draft for a hard nosed tackler.
They/them, non-binary and proud.

Rumors are afloat that the Lions are trading for CB Carlton Davis of the Bucs, a 27-year old former second-rounder out of Auburn.

(Edit)
Apparently it's a done deal, but won't be official till the start of the league year on March 13.
Lions receive CB Carlton Davis, Buccaneers 2024 6th-round pick and a 2025 6th-round pick.
Buccaneers receive Lions 2024 third-round pick.

Lions also sign edge LB Marcus Davenport to a one-year deal; he only played in four games for the Vikings last season, but did have nine sacks in 11 games for the Saints in 2021. Sounds like a former Aaron Glenn guy.

Massive but oft-injured DT D.J. Reader has signed with Lions for two years $27.5 million with $9 million guaranteed.

D-linemen James Houston and John Cominsky have been tendered, the latter with a large pay cut.

Lions sign 34-year old ex-Ravens Pro Bowl guard Kevin Zeitler to a one year contract. This fills the hole at LG vacated by the exit of Jonah Jackson and allows the Lions to go in ANY direction in the draft without drafting for immediate need.

In other news...
Duh Bears traded QB Justin Fields to the Steelers for a conditional 6th round draft choice! Talk about a drop in value!

(Edit)
Apparently the plan is to move Glasgow to LG and stick Zeitler at RG between Ragnow and Sewell; it's where he's played the bulk of his career and probably sealed the deal.

Stephon Gilmore a Lion? :?: As MichMash noted in the other thread, the Lions would be wise to see how this plays out with the league.

Restricted free agent Lions TE Brock Wright has reportedly signed a $3 million offer sheet from the Niners. The Lions have five days to match. I say do it; how many times has he come through with a big play out of nowhere? Great run blocker.

Lions have matched the Niners' offer to Brock Wright and also re-signed CB Kindle Vildor. FWIW, I approve. Hopefully Vildor learns to play passes in front of his facemask.

I'm a little surprised they made a matching offer to Wright, but I have no issue with them doing so. I like having depth.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
