got a 77" LG G3 set, and pulled the trigger this year because LG wont be including 3.0 ATSC in 2024 sets.
I tuned into channel 7 for the Rangers/Isles outdoor hockey game on Sunday, and all I can say is WOW!!!!!
The set upconverting to 4K is certainly part of the eye popping feeling, but in an A/B comparison, the 1080P of the 3.0 just had more pop than the 720P 1.0 version.
the same was true with channel 62 and golf, but that is 1080i compared to 1080p and not a fast motion sport. The differences were still there, just more subtle.
any other 3.0 viewers out there?
Acceptable registrations in the queue through May 6 at 7:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

ATSC 3.0
Re: ATSC 3.0
There is a couple of threads about 3.0 in the engineering forum. Perhaps querying there would reach folks across the state that may not look here.
Life is not a dress rehearsal. This is it. There's no going back, and we can only go forward before we run out of runway.

On a state of the art set in a 77" screen size, I am not surprised by the fact the 1080p broadcast looked better than the 720p broadcast.
Congrats on the purchase! The G3 is one of the best TVs on the market, if not the very best.

Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

note, main screen was 65, now it's the 77"

Re: ATSC 3.0
I'm not seeing it.
The bandwidth they're giving everyone on the Lighthouse transmitter is what, 2.5-3 megabits? It looks almost as bad as the old ATSC signal, which looks pretty bad considering all the sub-channels and the channel 20 stations they all must carry.
One thing I will tell you that you should do, disable the ATSC interactive bits if you connected it to the TV. Our friends at Graham media send all sorts of crap that doesn't trip a screen indication, they're silent pings to see who is watching.
