Manchin, out
Not seeking re-election.
Might run for president under No Labels.
I think Joe and Chuck are going to a get a payback for double-crossing him.

Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!
Re: Manchin, out
I don't see No Labels being a factor next November. I'd feel differently if they had kept their noble effort in the limelight since they first proclaimed that endeavor. Too late now if you ask me.
Now maybe just maybe if they could talk Haley or Ramaswamy to be their candidate, a slim chance. I know saying that means it's not generic that my eyes are brown. But Manchin is yet another old white male.

Life is not a dress rehearsal. This is it. There's no going back, and we can only go forward before we run out of runway.

If the choice comes down to Manchin, Biden and Trump, I will vote Manchin without hesitation.

Yep. If Romney is on the ticket with Manchin, whoever is running Goldman Sachs will be president... just like when Bush 43 was in office.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 2:19 pmIf the choice comes down to Manchin, Biden and Trump, I will vote Manchin without hesitation.

Manchin/Romney is the rumor that's floating around.

Miles better than Trump though.
Voting for Trump is dumber than playing Russian Roulette with fully loaded chambers.

The whole thing would collapse. There's limited point to Manchin running.

Romney is viewed by many as an aristocrat. If he were on the ticket, I'd still vote for that ticket over a Trump ticket or Biden ticket. However, the chances of he and his counterpart winning would be certainly reduced.
There are more likable pols than Romney available for a centrist ticket, I suspect. Sinema would arguably be a decent choice.

Charlie Baker and Larry Hogan would each make outstanding choices for the No Labels ticket.

Re: Manchin, out
Trump is going to end up, at an absolute bare minimum, with 35% of the popular vote in 2024, even if 10 different 3rd parties run. Even if just one 3rd party ran, it could not come up with more than that in a general election. So what's the point?
Trump's nomination and subsequent minimum vote tally are, short of him dying or becoming physically incapacitated between now than then, already a foregone conclusion.

And his maximum is 46%... he'll be living on the edge regardless.bmw wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 9:44 amTrump is going to end up, at an absolute bare minimum, with 35% of the popular vote in 2024, even if 10 different 3rd parties run.
