MLB Playoffs 2023

Unread post by moldyoldie »

Just like last year, one 100-win team has been bumped off (Dodgers) and another is about to be (Braves). Last I heard the Orioles were dangling on the precipice of elimination. This is fucked.

(Edit)
I guess the Orioles have already fallen off the precipice. :rolleyes This after winning 101 games playing in arguably MLB's toughest division. :rolleyes :rolleyes

Probably.

I am rooting for a Rangers-Diamondbacks WS to see exactly how low the ratings can go.

The Phillies are up 3-1 over Braves in the bottom of 8TH. Braves could be going home these playoff games haven't really been close mostly blowouts. It's a final Phillies win and are going to face the D-Backs in NLCS this weekend.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but when a team dominates the regular season it should be given a substantial advantage, not just more days off, which ends up being a detriment. Maybe give those teams an automatic 1-0 advantage in their first playoff series. I dunno. :?

Sounds like "punishing success". Those teams worked their asses off for every single win. Why should they be equal with THOSE teams who don't work as hard and aren't deserving?

I wish all teams started the playoffs at the same time. If they went back to one wild card team, that would be possible. But knowing the greed of baseball, they will probably expand to five wild card teams in each league.

The playoffs should be four teams. Finish everything sooner to avoid colder weather and rainouts.

Today is the 39th anniversary of the Tigers' World Series-winning victory in 1984.

Here in 2023, the league championship series don't start until tomorrow.

Matt's gonna choke me out (because I haven't watched baseball in years and years), but when you're playing the World Series well into November, that's not good.

Even Verlander can't win with zero run support.
