I can't wait to hear the spin on Carlson's departure. From the sound of it, the worst of Fox's on-air hosts when it came to the Trump lies were Carlson, Hannity, Lou Dobbs, and Maria Bartiromo. Two of those four are now gone. IMO, Bartiromo should have been broomed out when Dobbs left, frankly.

Carlson's name was prominent in the Dominion lawsuit and is also being dragged thanks to the former show producer who is suing him and Fox for a toxic ("sexist") workplace. If Fox decides to keep Hannity (and the speculation is that he'll eventually move into Carlson's 8:00 pm slot), I would love to know Fox's justification for keeping one and not the other.

Don Lemon, on the other hand, was, in my mind, mediocre and not up to the task of taking on the Today Show and GMA.

Carlson wasn't fired. The Lemon was.

On Monday morning, Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott called Carlson and informed him he was being taken off the air, and his Fox News email account was shut off. According to a source briefed on the conversation, Carlson was stunned by his sudden ouster from his 8 p.m. show, the most watched program in cable news last month. Carlson was in the midst of negotiating the renewal of his Fox News contract through 2029, the source said. As of last week, Carlson had told people he expected the contract to be renewed.
