Looks like 98.7 was a last minute idea since nothing is updated (website or anything)

Will Blackburn change 95.9 and 92.7 FM from Country to something else next?

Audio processing on 93.9 sounds like shit. Weak treble response.
Also 102.9 in Ann Arbor.

Why the hell did we go from 1 country station to 4? How can Detroit sustain them all? I don't get these moves.
They/them, non-binary and proud.

Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

Never would I have thought that 580'S oldies format was going to outlive 89X and 93.9 the River.

It was way before your time, but it's not the first time we've had 4 country stations in the market.

Being an old fogey, I am delighted 580 survives. It's a breath of fresh air in the foul wind of stale corporate radio. As for the two plug-n-play FM's, they will never amount to much. Good luck selling either one to local businesses in Windsor.

Corporate radio never new, never original. I don't know that a station that plays Brandy Clark, Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, and Turnpike Troubadours would succeed, but hell if it wouldn't have been interesting.

I am 36. I am also delighted 580 survived (at least for now). I am listening to it right now while I work, as I typically do.

(As I was preparing to "tape" the 89X and 93.9 switch on an old tape and tape recorder because my computer doesn't have a line-in input anymore, the tape I grabbed had an old recording of '580 Memories' with live DJ's and announcers from about 20-25 years ago. Was interesting to hear. I didn't tape over it.)

Memo to braindead radio execs - the teenage and young adult audience will *never* flock to FM. They're gone. Quit pandering!!!
This.

Classic hits focused on Detroit would have made sense.

We got two stations focused on Windsor. Detroit listeners will never be P1's of either.

And a full market signal basically rebooting a station that flopped spectacularly.

Bravo.
