"new" 7&4 News upload
"New" upload of an old newscast!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmyzfHy8UCk
Awesome seeing the old staff. I did not know that Greg MacMaster joined 7&4 in 1994. My recollection of him was as Chief Meteorologist.
Also, for a smaller news market, previous owners seem to change the 7&4 news set more frequently. The news set in this video is different than the one the previous year with Jerry Meyer.
Curious why most of the newscasts I find (of any station) are the night newscasts?

Found this a while back, forgot to post about it here. Pretty interesting find. I can’t wait to see what else the uploader has in store.
As for the question on the night newscasts, I can only assume most people wouldn’t just get up early and immediately fire up their VCRs to record the morning news, but I could be wrong.

I wasn't expecting to find a morning newscast, I'm just surprised their doesn't seem to be a lot of evening newscasts uploadedTVC_DX5678 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2020 8:45 amFound this a while back, forgot to post about it here. Re: "new" 7&4 News upload
I imagine the only reason anyone ever had to videotape the local news was because they were working some kind of night shift schedule and wanted to be able to watch the news when they got home (since this was long before we had the Internet, let alone smartphones, to instantly access the news at any given time). Or, if there was a particular story of interest that they wanted to keep for whatever reason.

I'm still wondering what the theme from the 1991 newscast is, and what previous theme music used was.

I love the old logo.
The footage must've been right before the station adopted the "Newschannel 7 & 4" branding.

Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

The footage says 1994, so I'm going to say most likely. How long did Federal own the station?

After doing a quick search of some old issues of Broadcasting Magazine, Federal picked up the stations from Beam around 1991 and sold them to Raycom in 1997.organman95 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 10:03 amThe footage says 1994, so I'm going to say most likely. How long did Federal own the station?

Thanks TVC. I knew Federal purchased from Beam, I wasn't sure if Federal sold to Raycom or if someone else owned it in the "NewsChannel" daysTVC_DX5678 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 10:13 amAfter doing a quick search of some old issues of Broadcasting Magazine, Federal picked up the stations from Beam around 1991 and sold them to Raycom in 1997.organman95 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 10:03 amThe footage says 1994, so I'm going to say most likely.
