Dave and Chuck the Freak
Dave and Chuck the Freak
Hated them at first. They've grown on me though. Sometimes they can get a bit tedious but overall I think they're pretty solid and usually good for a few chuckles.

I'd rather listen to one of the Kardashian tramps shave their armpits than those turds...

Never listened to them, then again I haven't listened to that station since they shitcanned Drew and Mike and crew. Since they told me they were going after a younger audience I figured they don't want me listening so piss on 'em.
Re: Dave and Chuck the Freak
Nope. I am somewhere between 18 and 59. They have always been juvenile to me, even in their 89X days. Their style of humor can be funny if done right, but they don’t.
Re: Dave and Chuck the Freak
I disliked them at first too. Thought the exact same things. They grow on you though. I'm not saying they are the greatest thing ever but they're good for a few chuckles in the morning.

Morning radio in general is dreadful. Every once in a while I'll give a listen to 96.3, 93.9, 99.5 or 95.5 to see what my former favorite stations are doing with their morning show. If it's not pre recorded actors pretending to be in a relationship dilemma or a snoozefest single jock show or the same old guy being sent out to do stunts or completely overly done unfunny phone scams it's a shitton of commercials. More often than not I will listen to a podcast when out and about.
I never liked Dave and Chuck. Way too immature and kinda dumb. No I am not 60 or over 60. I am 44 and female.

Dreadful is a good description. 96.3s morning show used to be family-friendly, but now it’s a bunch of syndicated bits like ‘Dealbreakers,’ which is so damn fake. Local references aren’t made during that bit. And all of the piped-in laugh track is pathetic. Also, you can distinguish between a real call and a prerecorded call that was bought off syndication, because the fake calls consist of actors talking really fast, with non-Midwest accents, and dropping f-bombs every 20 seconds. Blaine Fowler deserves better content.Lickalime wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2019 1:59 pmMorning radio in general is dreadful. If Detroiters were smart they would boycott local radio completely between 6a-9a and send advertisers a message that we ain't puttin' up with this crap. I know Chicago is much bigger but still you've got like 100 morning shows to choose from there and all live.

I'm 52 and never ever like Dave and Chuck. I do get it that it's probably because I am too old. I always hated how much they laugh at themselves on air.

Re: Dave and Chuck the Freak
I don't know...I find myself tuning Riff on in the morning sometimes...P1 of WWJ, P2 of 97.1.....I'm just really burnt to shit on the music offerings right now, so I guess I'm gravitating to more spoken-word formats by default. Even with more choices, I travel outside of the range of some of those out of market stations because I travel all day for work. And my phone generally has Google Maps so my own music is usually out of the question. It's not must-listen radio, but it sure beats hearing Christmas music or another GNR or Crue song already beaten to death. So much like me in life, they're the winner by default.
