New channel frquencies
Re: New channel frquencies
WDWO is now airing 5 subchannels: 18.1, 18.2, 18.3, 18.4, and 1.1!!! That's right, a virtual channel 1! The only other 1 (no pun intended) is KAXT-CD San Francisco.

Re: New channel frquencies
I was FINALLY able to briefly pick up TVO and Global with my rooftop antenna... and it was NOT easy! All that co-channel interference made me work for it.
TVO has a virtual channel of 19.1 now. Global's is still 22.1, despite moving to UHF 33.
I was also able to tune in to WDWO-CD as well.... very VERY interesting... TV Azteca on 18.1, infomercials on 18.2 and 18.3, and TCT on 18.4, with a 720p feed of 3ABN on 1.1.
I checked other frequencies, and so far, nothing else is going on. WUDT-LD has not moved to VHF 8 yet, hindering my reception of NBC 24 from Toledo... though with how badly that station's run these days, that might not be a bad thing

Never thought I'd see the day where WDWO-CD airs commercial secular programming.
The HD signal of Azteca America looks terrific.
The changes at WDWO-CD aren't the only changes to the local TV dial. ION Life - channel 31.3 - is now "Ion Plus."

That ION Plus on 31.3 I'm viewing on 50.5 as well. Its July 12, 2019 at 9PM when I took the chance that 50.5 might be up and running.
Re: New channel frquencies
Noticed today that oddball channel 1.1 is no longer a valid entry on my sets. WDWO's "3ABN" network now correctly shows up only as 18.5 (which I immediately checkboxed as a "SKIP" channel in tuner settings). Amen.
Re: New channel frquencies
Sad, I liked having a channel 1

The WBSF antenna has a 20 dB null toward the Flint Area. 600 kW with a 20 dB null is 6 kW. Although the WEYI tower is a good site, the signal will be nowhere near as strong as WEYI, which is 300 kW nondirectional. Often, the DA nulls that deep will be even less in actual performance. Also the "City Grade" signal level for a digital TV signal is pretty fragile, so I would not expect OTA performance to be that good in Genesee County. I wouldn't expect that it would get much past Clarkston under normal conditions.tvbobn wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 1:01 pmYou mention that they're going from 70kW ERP to 600kW ERP, but you didn't mention they're tower move. WBSF will now be on the WEYI tower south of Frankenmuth instead of the site across the street from WNEM. Much farther south. WBSF is a Bay City station, so they needed a lot more power to get city grade coverage over their community of license.
Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?
