Easter Weekend Tropo

The technical side of broadcasting. Think IBOC is a sham? Talk about it here! How about HDTV? Post DX reports here as well.

Easter Weekend Tropo

Post by Chris1980 » Mon Apr 22, 2019 2:48 pm

I missed the big opening early Easter morning, but still had some decent enhancement coming through late Sunday night into early Monday morning. Many of my warm weather tropo regulars from Fort Wayne, Lima, Defiance, etc. showed up here in Whitmore Lake. Some of my other catches included:

88.1 WVPE
89.7 WNOC fighting with local WTAC
91.1 WGCS Goshen
93.5 WRQN fighting with local WHMI
94.3 WZOC
Redeemer Radio 95.7 Nappanee/South Bend
New Country K99.1 Dayton
Live 99.9 Benton Harbor-S. Bend with full RDS
104.9 WBXX with full RDS (unusual for me)
107.3 WRSW Warsaw

WENZ 107.9 was back and again attempted to come in over La Zeta on Sunday here in Wyandotte.

As for TV DX, it was nothing too special. WKYC, WEWS, WTOL, CHWI, CIII and WQHS.

My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!

Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)
