You give management too much credit. To think there is any thought, strategy, or work that goes into a hire is nonsense.autolab wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 8:10 amWho's the new guy who replaced Larry Elliott on WJRT's morning newscast?
IMO, he's underwhelming... just another boring white guy (this assessment coming from a fellow boring white guy.) I'm surprised Veto-Hodak didn't go in a different direction: like make an all female anchor team (beating 5 at its failed experiment with Simnitch-Holland)... or finding someone with experience or diversity (like 25-66's Woolfolk-Spence-Bajjey combo).
For those interested, here's Matt Barbour's bio on ABC12's website:
https://www.abc12.com/content/bios/289475081.html
Here’s how it goes: “Who wants to work for this low salary? You? You’re hired! Now get in front of screaming high schoolers and pretend that people can hear what you’re saying.”
When viewers ask, “What’s that person doing on TV?” The answer is, “Because nobody else wanted to do it.”
