As if Gnash-FM wasn't a big enough clusterfuck already, that station is now looking at its second change in PM Drive in the past 60 days.

I'm not ready to say "put a fork in it." Country is likely the right format for 93.1 FM.

I will repeat my longstanding call for the station to dump the idiotic "Nash" name, go 100% LOCAL in morning drive, and ditch the bro country / pop music starlet country in favor of more 90's and 2000's gold.

I don't even feel comfortable giving an opinion on who because the station is such a trainwreck

I think it will be Phatt Matt, just trying to top how ridicules it was having Podel on a country station.

From the time he was at WWCK-FM, he was always a Rock and Roll DJ. I thought he was out of his element at WDRQ Nash FM. I think it's easier if you're at a Soft Rock or AC Format station to transition to Country, like Bob Burchett and Joe Wade Formicola. It's harder to transition from Hard Rock to Country.

Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

Joe Wade Formicola is deceased, sadly.

As for Podell, I personally believe he left a sinking ship. There's a good chance Cumulus will dump Detroit. Then what? He probably didn't want to wait around to find out.

If they want to keep the format country why not rebrand the station and bring Bubba over from W4 in Ann Arbor to do mornings and bring in someone like a Mike Scott, Rene Vitale, Lisa Jesswin, Tom Baker to do the afternoon drive shift? 93.1 W4 Country? What the heck, you've got 106.7 Detroit's Wheels and that brandings been dead longer than W4 Country in Detroit.

Never cared for him, but will give him a listen out of curiosity. I remember his nasally voice and flat delivery.

Well, I must say, I was pleasantly surprised with what I heard just now!

He clearly has worked very hard on his DJ voice and speaking style over the past five years. His delivery is immensely better than what I remember! Doesn't even sound like the same guy!

He still uses the "Electric Barnyard" moniker for his air shift.
