Just heard them a few minutes ago. The audio quality was a little crappy though...

if you read the comments on the ticker it doesn't appear like there are many people excited about their return. I suppose if someone's willing to pay them it's nice to have a real Morning Show in town.

Are we both reading the same comments? Looks like NM listeners are happy for the return of Eggman and Coat Rack.

I think B&T had been on The Bear since it signed on (or not long after)

Since what signed on? "The Bear" was not around until I think '98 or '99, at the same time "The Zone" started. The stations the comprised "The Bear" were just simulcasts of WGFM, as far as I know.

Bob and Tom started at (I think) WJML in Petoskey and then went national.

Many successful syndicated shows are charging a cash fee along with the barter spot requirement, so adding a live morning show may be expense neutral

I thought B&T were pretty darn good at one time, and personally appreciate that we had them up here to hear, both pre- and during syndication. I'll admit losing interest and the ability to un-hear the annoying omnipresent laugh-tracks, had me saying good-bye for good 10+ years ago. From what I've read since, maybe the show should have retired 5 years ago. They had a good run, though, and gave a good nod to northern MI during much of that time.

As for their Bear replacements, I saw the few TCTic comments as not exactly an overwhelming swell in favor. They may never reach the level of ratings previously enjoyed, but with the tighter-than-a-popcorn-fart playlist & two femme voices who sound like the same person (the Dept of Redundancy Dept regimen KL()T is dosing these days), I do hope Egg & Oatmeal do well against their expungers.

Or, well enough to give some of us a reason to tune in again once in a while, anyway. Good luck!
