WNIC what is your next move?

What do you think will change at 100.3 on December 26th more 70’s or more 90’s or just business as usual.

I doubt they will do much. I don't see them playing Neil Diamond 3 times a day.

They should at least increase the older music and scale back on the garbage teen pop, maybe bring back the old station imaging.

Here is a 2006 aircheck of WNIC.
I would love to hear this again.

I doubt anything changes. If anything they emphasize their "variety" from the '80s to NOW more. Because we all know 45-year-old women can't get enough Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes...

They were losing to Magic 105.1, so finally they decided to go "fresh" 🙄🙄 aka trash

I didn’t think Harper and crew at Magic had that much of an impact.Oh well NIC better wake up and smell the coffee because 987 the Breeze is going to kill them in the ratings ,and the Breeze better be consistent as well if 987 keeps the playlist the way it is today they will do good but if they start cutting back on 70’s and 80’ material they will just become another WNIC.

Their first song after the Christmas music ended was by Taylor Swift.

I don't think they are going to be changing anything before seeing The Breeze's ratings for the next couple months.

Wrong. That move was in response to 96.3 WDVD, who was pulling outstanding ratings at the time.

WNIC sounds a bit more uptempo than it did in October. They evidently don't feel a need to respond to 98.7, at least not yet, and apparently continue to view 96.3 as their most direct competitor.

This is probably the right move, IMO, especially with the personnel changes at 96.3.

Still very few if any currents at 100.3, but a slightly greater percentage of the playlist is devoted to post-2K songs now.

They also now are promoting themselves with "at work" in all the announcements now.

They have been playing select 60s and 70s tunes, and they just happen to be the songs The Breeze got rid of a few weeks ago when they replaced them with upbeat RnB crap.
(Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, Ben E. King, Abba, etc.)

Their 80s selections also now, such as Air Supply, which has not played on WNIC since 2010.

However, wnic is still unlistenable to me since 80% of the music is post 2k, and that mixed in with the very occasional older song does NOT sound good at all.

I respectfully but completely disagree that WNIC plays 80% post 2K songs. I would say less than half of their selection is post 2K, and very 80s heavy, although they have most definitely increased their 70s spins since Christmas. They always threw the rogue 70s song in there (i never understood why they have to say 80s 90s and today instead of just yesterday and today), but they have clearly increased their 70s spins. You can check out a 2 day playlist on their website, I had to go look just to make sure it wasn't my mind thinking they played so much eighties, and I was correct. A mix of new and old with a lean towards old.

The question is then how much 90’s are they playing or are they jumping past the 90’s?
