Jan Russo! What a sweetheart. She did the night show when I was hired for O/N at WFMK (1987). Replaced by Sandi Kovach, who was much more talented, but not a sweetheart.Colonel Flagg wrote: ↑Wed Nov 14, 2018 9:42 amDelilah would be a trainwreck. For godsakes, keep it local. During my two tours of duty through WFMK, from 7PM to 12M we had "Lights Out" hosted by Jan Russo. Something like that would be amazing, especially with the frequency's Smooth Jazz history. Jan went on to work for Narada, the NAC/SJ label in Milwaukee. NAC is long gone, but an evening Smooth Jazz show would be a perfect fit. We made a fortune on it at WFMK.armchair pd wrote: ↑Wed Nov 14, 2018 8:55 amDoubt we'll hear talent before 2019, but Kevin and Edmonds are no brainers.
Delilah tho? NO
Re: 98.7 The Breeze (Soft AC) is here!
Today I listened to the breeze for about 3 hours, I heard Smooth operator by Sade, which coincidentally was the first and last song played by V98.7, I also heard many other songs that V98.7 played and the Old WNIC played as well. Only song that really stood out was an early 2000s usher song that I think only Urban AC and maybe 105.1 play, but I did hear some artists that traditionally play on Sleepy AC stations, like The Carpenters, Neil Diamond, Olivia Newton John, theres probably some Manilow songs in rotation too, hell maybe even a Julio Iglesias song or two.
Sounds like Their trying to target the dentist offices that listened to them during their smooth jazz days.

I like this station a lot, but if I hear Adele again today (3x already today) I’m gonna hemorrage.

I love Adele especially when I get a root canal.

I listened to it today both going to work and coming home. It seemed mostly soft rock in the morning and power ballads in the afternoon. This morning's music was pretty good until they played the Pina Colada song—I have to draw the line somewhere.
Also, they played Roberta Flack's First Time Ever I Saw Your Face this morning. I remember when it came out in the early 1970s and some DJ complained about how hard it was to balance the sound because of all the quiet spots in the song. I admit it was hard to listen to as I was bounding down the freeway at 70 MPH.

Sorry. Breezy won’t be on my preset. No Conniff, Mantovani, Kaempfert, Percy Faith, Mancini, Melachrino, Winterhalter, Kostelanetz, et al. Bring back Beautiful Music.

Throw in some George Shearing and 50's Sinatra and maybe some Mitch Miller.Art Van Damme wrote: ↑Wed Nov 14, 2018 7:51 pmSorry. Breezy won’t be on my preset. No Conniff, Mantovani, Kaempfert, Percy Faith, Mancini, Melachrino, Winterhalter, Kostelanetz, et al. Bring back Beautiful Music.

I've already heard "Kiss from a Rose" by Seal twice on 98.7."All I Wanna Do" by Sheryl Crow and "Kiss From A Rose" by Seal!
"All I Wanna Do" by Sheryl Crow probably is too uptempo for The Breeze. You might hear that one on 96.3 on occasion. Frankly, that's a song WOMC should be playing! (They did for a brief time in 2017.)
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

Yes they did play 90’s a while back and I think they will eventually again maybe a soon a after the New Year they will have to so they can keep up with that demographic and know that Entercom changed 98.7 the could happen both stations are about even on 70’s music.

And yes WOMC did play it in 2017

WOMC is mostly 80s now, but still some 70s thrown in.RadioKev wrote: ↑Wed Nov 14, 2018 9:40 pmYes they did play 90’s a while back and I think they will eventually again maybe a soon a after the New Year they will have to so they can keep up with that demographic and know that Entercom changed 98.7 the could happen both stations are about even on 70’s music.
The Breeze is doing a very good variety of 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, with maybe a dozen songs from today.
It's a perfect mix. It's exactly how an AC station should sound.
It makes WNIC's "fresh" bizarre random mix of 80s and today's songs look like a big joke.
Music is my life.
Re: 98.7 The Breeze (Soft AC) is here!
I hate it that stations that play 80s/90s music will regularly play one particular song by an artist and won't touch any of their other stuff. Seal is a perfect example of this. I hear Kiss From a Rose quite often on 92.5 The Fox FM (northern Michigan) but never anything else, such as:MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Wed Nov 14, 2018 9:17 pmI've already heard "Kiss from a Rose" by Seal twice on 98.7."All I Wanna Do" by Sheryl Crow and "Kiss From A Rose" by Seal!

-Prayer for the Dying (reached #11 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart)
-Don't Cry (reached #4 on the AC chart, and I can't remember the last time I've heard this one on any radio station)
-Crazy (ok I hear this one once in a very great while on the radio)
-Fly Like an Eagle (reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100)
