If I remember right, they aired The Box, which was a music video channel that you could call a 1-900 number to make a request. Of course, a 1-900 like like $2.95 a minute. . The box I think moved from Ch 48 to WBTL. When Ch 48 became part of UPN.

Then it seemed like Ch 5 aired Home Shopping Spree and infomercials. Anyone remember this?

Yes, this is a thing that happened. It was a low power t.v. station. It went from channel 5 to Channel 34, not 48. It went off the air in 2007. The box turned into MTV2 on most cable networks.

Right, the box at one point or another was on both channels. Yes, 48 was a totally different entity than 5/34.

MTV2 would replace The Box on many LPTVs as well. In some areas, it would later be replaced on LPTVs with MTV Tr3s, a Spanish-flavored MTV. MTV's involvement with LPTV would fade away by the early 2000s, as the main MTV channel began to distance themselves from music and concentrate more on cable.

I recall around 1990, the station ID'd itself as "W05BZ Toledo" on screen and the channel was called "The Jukebox Network" originally.

Later in '91 or so, channel 48 had it as "The Box".
